Dishes
Italy is famous for its cuisine and the quality of its restaurants. It also offers a wide variety of regional dishes.
Pasta is a typical Italian dish, prepared in dozens of different ways. Although traditional Italian cuisine is meat-based, many restaurants now offer a vegetarian menu.
Cultural tip In many restaurants you will be able to choose a cheaper set menu “il menù fisso” or “il menù turistico.” Salad (“l’insalata” ) is generally served as a side dish (“il contorno”).
