Read the text consulting with the vocabulary:
80-90 years of 19 century commencement of high-grade iron of Kryvyi Rih basing surface mining. Beginning of 20 century first commercial iron ore underground in Kryvorizhzhya. Post-war years underground mining of ore in Kryvbas was executed by mines of two trusts: “Dzerzhynskruda” (southern part of the basin) and “Leninruda” (northern part of the basin).
1973 trusts “Dzerzhynskruda” and “Leninruda” according to Soviet Ministers of the USSR order were liquidate. A new industrial association of underground iron-oer mining “Kryvbassruda” was founded on their basis including the following mines: named after Illich “Ingulets”, “Dzerzhynsky”, “Kirov”, “Luxemburg”, “Lenin”, “Peshotravneve”.
As industrial association “Kryvbassruda” was composed 10 mine administrations. Mine administrations “Ingulets” according to the order of Ministry of Ferrous Metallurgy became a part of Ingulets mining and ore-dressing combine.
In accordance with the orders of Ministry of Idustrial Politics of Ukraine and State Joint Stock Company “Ukrrudprom” was transformed to a daughter enterprise. From 2000 y. mine administration “Oktyabrska” was liquidated and two independent structural subdivisions were founded on its basis: mine “Oktyabrska” and “Bolshevik”. Output of commercial ore in 2000 y. came to 5mln. 534,2th/t.

MINE WORKING
According to their position mine working may be divided into open-pit and underground.
The deposits which outcrop on the surface are best worked out by open-pit workings, while deep-seated mineral deposits can be mined only by underground methods.
Open-pit mining has the advantages of lower cost, larger mechanical appliances, no timber for support, better working conditions in respect to light and air, and grater proportion of mineral won, than that obtained by underground mining, more convenient and, in most cases, more efficient use of explosives, higher work ratios.
The surface bounding an underground working from its top, bottom and sides is called respectively roof, floor and walls.
The initial point of an underground passage open to daylight or adjoining another passage is called mouth (or entry), and the end of the underground passage advancing with the progress of work is known as a stope.
Mine opening may be divided into prospecting and exploitation workings. Prospecting workings are driven to gain knowledge of an orebody as to its shape, size, position, and metallic content. Working used for opening up an orebody, its development, and stoping are termed exploitation workings.
