№ 24. Translate the sentences paying attention to the different ways oj comparison in the following patterns.

1. Pattern - as ... as - is used to compare two things. Their style of management is as good as ours.

2. Pattern - not so ... as - is used to compare two things in the negative sentences.

The younger brother is not so responsible as the elder one.

2. Pattern - "^er/ more + than - is used to compare two things followed by "than".

This flow of information is more important than the previous one.

2. Pattern - *^cst/ most + of - is used to compare things in the Superlative Degree (найвищий ступінь).

This method of adaptability is the best of all known methods of this kind.

2. Pattern - less ... than - is used to compare two things with less. The new manager is less assertive than Mr. Brown.

3. Pattern — the least ... of - is used to compare things with the least. This suggestion is the least clever of the three.

4. Pattern - the words ever, far, much, still, a great deal of, far, too + ^er/ more - is used to emphasize the degree of quality.

Peter's approach is far wiser.

My Mother's judgement is still more mature than mine.

2. Pattern — the (comparative — вищий ступінь)... the (comparative). It is translated as "чим... тим".

The higher the rate of production, the higher the living standards of people. The sooner, the better.

The more efficient management, the better performance of a firm.
