Причастие – это неличная форма глагола, которая выполняет синтаксические функции прилагательного и наречия. В английском языке существует два вида причастия: причастие настоящего времени – причастие первое и причастие прошедшего времени – причастие второе (пассивное).

Participle I

1.Образование: основа глагола + ing

2.Переводится действительным причастием или деепричастием:plugging-вставляющий, вставляя; processing-обрабатывающий,обрабатывая;

3.Кроме простых форм имеются сложные формы причастия первого.

4.Причастие разряда Simple передает одновременность с действием глагола –сказуемого ,перфект передает предшествование действию глагола –сказуемого.

Participle II

1.Образование: основа правильных глаголов + ed

2.Переводится страдательным причастием: switched-переключенный; built-in-встроенный

Функции причастия

Обладая признаками прилагательного, глагола и наречия, причастие может выполнять функции определения, сказуемого, обстоятельства.

Обстоятельство	причастному обороту в функции обстоятельства времени может предшествовать союзы when или while .Такие причастные обороты переводятся на русский язык полным обстоятельственным предложением; деепричастным оборотом; существительным с предлогом при.	1.Any body when heated to a high temperature becomes a source of light. 2.While introducing new words the teacher gave some examples.
	2)Причастие второе в сочетании с союзом if , unless (если не, до тех пор пока), when переводится на русский язык условным придаточным предложением	Unless repaired this part can not be used in the radio set.
Сказуемое	причастие первое служит для образования сложной структуры сказуемого во временах группы Progressive ,Perfect Progressive.	Many complex problems can be solved with the help of computers.
	причастие второе служит для образования сказуемого во времени Perfect и для образования сложной структуры сказуемого в страдательном залоге	The latest laser devises have found application in medicine.

Задание 1. Образуйте формы причастия первого от следующих глаголов; прочитайте и переведите полученные слова на русский язык:

Задание 2.Образуйте формы причастия второго от следующих глаголов, прочитайте и переведите их на русский язык: complete, replace, build, execute, run, process, work, open, ask, study, want, close, decide, help, stay, clean, become.

Задание 3.Определите, какие формы, и какие виды причастий использованы в нижеследующих предложениях:

Сложные конструкции, включающие причастие Зависимый причастный оборот

1.Причастный оборот – это конструкция, содержащая причастие и зависимые от него слова. Различают зависимые и независимые причастные обороты.

2.Зависимый причастный оборот соотносится по смыслу с главными членами предложения. Он состоит из имени существительного в общем падеже или местоимения в объектном или именительном падеже и причастия.

3.Переводится на русский язык сложноподчиненным предложением с союзом как (когда):

They watched him changing the program. – Они видели, как он изменял программу.

A man always wants a computer being not vulnerable. – Человеку всегда хочется, чтобы компьютер был неуязвим.

Независимый причастный оборот.

Независимый причастный оборот строится вокруг собственного ядра, т.е. имеет выраженное подлежащее, не совпадающее с подлежащим главного предложения. Он состоит из существительного в общем падеже и причастия и отделяется запятой.

The work having been finished, they went home at once. – Как только работа была закончена, они пошли домой.

The fuel burnt out, the engine stopped. – Так как горючее загорелось, мотор заглох.

Many scientists worked in the field of mechanics before Newton, the most outstanding being Galileo. – Многие ученые работали в области механики до Ньютона, но самым выдающимся из них был Галилей.

Numerous experiments having been carried out at the orbital stations, it became possible to develop new methods of industrial production of new materials. – После того как многочисленные эксперименты были проделаны на орбитальных станциях, стало возможно развивать новые методы промышленного производства новых материалов.

2.Независимый причастный оборот в разговорной речи употребляется довольно редко, но встречается в письменной речи, в том числе в технических текстах. На русский язык переводится как придаточное предложение, вводимое союзами когда, так как, поскольку, а также независимым предложением, присоединяемым бессоюзно или союзами и, а, причем и др.

Laser beam being quite harmless, it is widely used in medicine.	Так как лазерный луч совершенно безвреден, его широко применяют в медицине.
Atoms consist of three kinds of particles –electrons, protons, neurons, and the number of particles determing the kind of an element.	Атомы состоят из трех видов частиц – электронов, протонов и нейтронов, причем число частиц определяет вид элемента.

3.При переводе на русский язык предложений, содержащих независимый причастный оборот, который образован неперфектными формами причастия, устанавливается согласование во времени между сказуемым главного и придаточного предложений. Это согласование определяется формой глагола – сказуемого главного предложения.

Если глагол – сказуемое главного предложения выражен формой настоящего времени, то причастие переводится в настоящем времени. Если употреблена форма прошедшего времени, причастие также переводится глаголом в прошедшем времени:

The iron –foundry produces large quantities of pig iron, the great amount of it being turned into steel. –Этот чугунно – плавильный завод производит большое количество чугуна, причем большая его часть перерабатывается в сталь.

Наличие перфектной формы причастия первого в составе независимого причастного оборота отражает предшествование действию, выраженному глаголом – сказуемым главного предложения:

The goods having been unloaded, the workers left the port. -После того как товары были разгружены, рабочие ушли из порта.
