Ролевая игра “The Construction of a Building”

Цель занятия: развивать коммуникативную компетенцию студентов (речевую деятельность в говорении); умения работать в группе; воспитывать личностные качества ответственности и уважительного отношения к собеседникам

Сценарий: студентам предлагается продумать игру, в которой должна принять участие вся группа (12, 13 человек).

Роли участников:

1. Руководитель практики;

2. Менеджер проекта (генеральный подрядчик);

3. Рабочие стройки (экскаваторщик, плотники, штукатуры-маляры и другие);

4. Студенты-практиканты (все остальные студенты).

Студенты с руководителем практики отправляются на место строительства зданий сборного типа. Участникам игры предлагается провести беседу с генеральным подрядчиком и рабочими стройки.

Основой для игры может послужить следующий диалогический текст:

The Construction of a Building

A group of students is asking the construction manager the following questions:

Practice Instructor: Let me introduce Mr. Philip Stone, general contractor of the construction project that is being carried out on this site.

General Constractor: I’m glad to see the future construction engineers and I will do my best to tell and show as much as possible to you.

Student 1: What is under construction here?

General Constractor: We are constructing the office building here.

Student 2: What is prefabricated construction?

General Constractor: .........

Student 3: How long does it take the builders to complete the construction?

General Constractor: .........

Student 4: What building materials do you use here?

General constractor: .........

Instructor: And what about the process of construction? What kind of jobs are required in prefabricated construction?

Construction manager: ......... I suppose you would like to see some of our specialists at their work. So let us talk to some of them.

General constractor:

Excavator driver:…………..

General constractor: …………..

Carpenters (fastening panel blocks):……………………………

Roofer:…………..

General constractor: After the exterior panels have been erected and the roofing has been completed the construction process will be continued by laying the floor and walls covering and applying the finishing materials.

Student 5: Are there any safety rules observed at the construction site?

General constractor: Sure, ……..

Supervisor: And could you tell us about your personal duties as a general constrcator?

Construction manager: Sure, that’s not a problem. My duties include…….

Supervisor: I believe, our students learned quite a lot of useful information today and we are very grateful to you for time and interesting talk you gave to us.

All students: Thank you for your answers. Good-bye!

Устные сообщения по результатам выполнения рефератов, проектов

Цель занятия: развивать коммуникативную компетенцию студентов (речевую деятельность в письме и говорении).

На занятии студенты защищают рефераты и проекты по теме “English Speaking Countries. Types of Buildings”. В качестве опорного материала можно рекомендовать использование текстов “Building Styles”, “Building Houses”, “Houses and Homes”, стр. 83-90 (Гарагуля), а также Интернет-источники.
