My specialty

While choosing a job many factors should be taken into consideration: wages and salaries, job-satisfaction, opportunities to travel and to see much. For me, the most important criterion is job-satisfaction and that’s why I have chosen the profession of an economist. Economy is a compound part of any social life. The students who have done well with all their studies and passed the state examinations get the qualification of an economist.

At the university the students make acquaintance with the principles of economic activity. A great deal of time the students spend on commerce and its functions, customer s demands, commerce turnover, material base, commerce funds and finance. My theoretical knowledge is enriched by the practice.

My speciality is considered to be very important and urgent especially nowadays. Modern Commerce has a tendency of transition to the market relation. Different forms of property appear, commercial banks, join-stock companies, join-ventures, auction play a very important role in our society. The students have got deep knowledge in planning of economy, labour economics, economy and computer science. Now I know haw to plan money-costs, count productivity and calculate the grouth trade turnover.

There 3 aspects Id like to deal with in future: marketing, advertising and management with linguistics.

Marketing research communications, planning and advertising are simply impossible without a foreign language.

My future speciality is quite difficult and requires discipline and high quality of work.

Marketing

Marketing includes all the business activities connected with the movement of goods and services from producers to consumers. Sometimes it is called distribution. On the one hand, marketing is made up of such activities as transporting, storing and selling goods and, on the othe hand, a series of decisions you make during the process of moving goods from producer to user. Marketing operations include product planning, buying, promotion, selling, credit, traffic and marketing research.

The ability to recognize early trends is very important. Producers must know why, where, for what purpose the consumers buy. Market research helps the producer to predict what the people will want. And through abvertizing he attempts to influence the customer to buy. Marketing operations are very expensive. They up more than halt of consumer’s dollar. The trend in the USA has been to high mass consumption. The construction of good shopping centres has made goods available to consumers. It provided a wide range of merchandise and plenty of parking facilities.

Computers

The computer industry is one of largest in western countries and especially in the USA. It includes companies that manufacture, sell and lease computers, as well as companies that supply products and services for people working with computers.

A computer cannot think. A human operator puts data into the computer and gives instructions. The operator writes instructions which determine the mathematical operations on information. A computer solves mathematical problems very rapidly. Traditionally, the computer in business is used to process data. This involves different administrative function such as preparation of payrolls, inventory control in manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations, customer accounting, billing by banks, insurance companies, public utilities and mass circulation magazines.

Now the computer takes on new kinds of jobs. It has become more involved in business operations as an essential tool in making decisions at the highest administrative level.
