Exercise 26. Julie is visiting her friend Samantha . Complete the conversation by putting the verbs in brackets into the present perfect or simple past.

Julie: This room isn’t the same as when I (come) last time. You (put) the bookshelves in a different place.

Samantha: Yes, as you can see, we (change) things around. We (get) tired of how we (have) everything before.

Julie: You (take) the piano out, too.

Samantha: Wel, Jeff is the musical one, but he (not to play) the piano for ages. And it (take) up quite a lot of room in here.

Julie: I (not to see) that picture before. How long you (have) it?

Samantha: Oh, not long. We (buy) it about a month ago.

Julie: It’s very nice. Where you (get) it?

Samantha: At that little gallery in Church Street.

Julie: I never (hear) of the artist.

Samantha: I (not to know) anything about her when I (buy) the picture. But I (see) others by her since then. They’re very good, but we can’t aford any more. This one (be) quite expensive.

Exercise 27. Translate into English using the Present Perfect or Past Simple.
