Parts of shops

window, shop window - the window of a shop, in which goods are displayed

department (in a large shop) - a part which sells one particular kind of thing; the furniture department; the electrical goods department

floor - a part which is on a particular level

counter - the place (a table or other long flat surface) where customers are served

checkout - the place in a supermarket where the customers pay for what they buy

till - a machine which the shopkeeper uses to keep money in and to add up the amount to be paid

Going shopping
