It is Company Policy that all chemicals, paints, cleaning materials, etc are packaged and stored according to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code.

All ships must maintain a file containing hazard data sheets for various
chemicals in use. All cleaning chemicals supplied in drums or containers must be checked to verify that they are correctly labeled. In case when slops collected in the drums, a clear label should indicate
content of the drum.

The labels must be in good condition, clearly readable, with all proper
hazard warnings and markings in place. Any containers or
packages that does not meet these requirements should not be accepted on board.

On occasions, vendors or contractors may supply with tank cleaning chemicals or solvents in used drums. In such situations the drums must not be accepted until they are correctly marked. Empty drums used by ship for storage of liquids must have old labels erased and remarked.

reaction between incompatible chemicals.
