INTRODUCTION

Strategic management as a modern control system of the organization has arisen under influence of basic changes in manufacture. In last quarter of XX century the economy of the advanced countries has got features of a postindustrial epoch. This epoch name as innovative, new economy, economy of knowledge, etc. She differs high dynamism of manufacture and uncertainty of an environment of the company. There is a globalization of a competition: practically any firm working even in the local market, competes to domestic and foreign manufacturers of the similar goods sold in the same market. Firms, regions, the countries compete among themselves not only the goods, but also.

Major factors of development in the increasing measure become people of knowledge, the competence which they possess. There is a transition from the traditional management focused on the capital, to the strategic management focused not only on the capital, but also on an innovation, knowledge, on updating of organizational structures and communications, on an environment.

Problems of strategic management are especially actual for Russia. Its integration in developed the wolds communications and an openness of the markets demand conformity of all factors and results of manufacture to a world level. Insufficient experience and a level of strategic management at the Russian enterprises in conditions of open economy does them frequently noncompetitive in the internal and external markets.

Introduction

Skill to form an image of the future to develop the purposes and strategy of development, to raise competitiveness of the organization, to expect and soften strategic threats, i.e. skill to use technology of strategic management begins the vital condition of existence and development of the domestic enterprises.

The given manual is prepared according to the Russian educational standard on strategic management and aimed at formation at students of system of knowledge, skills and skills on the given discipline. It is prepared on the basis of foreign training the author, generalization of domestic and foreign sources; participations in the international programs and projects (TASIS, PROMETEE-II, EUROFACULTY).

The manual represents the second edition added and advanced according to the working program modified at EUROFACULTY on strategic management.

Such new themes and questions are switched on in the manual as a choice of alternative strategy, key the competence, the purpose and system of the balanced parameters, the strategic control and others. Many themes are updated in view of ten years' experience of teaching of discipline in the Russian state university by him. An edging in job illustrations of professor R. Jutsevichus are in part used.

The given manual is focused on students, undergraduate, trainees on administrative and economic specialities. It can be used for preparation of course and degree jobs on specialization « Strategic management », and also for improvement of professional skill of experts of the enterprises, the organizations and bodies of the state and municipal management.

The author expresses gratitude doctor, to the professor of the Kaunas technological university R. Jutsevichus for the help and support in modernization of the working program and the manual on strategic management.
