Мы используем:

  • для выражения будущего действия, которое совершится до определенного момента в будущем. Момент, до которого совершится действие, может быть определен:

а) такими обозначениями времени, как by five o'clock -к пяти часам, by Saturday- к субботе, by the 25th of January- к 25 января, by the end of the month- к концу месяца, by that time -к тому времени и т. п.: e.g. We shall have written the article by five o'clock. Мы (уже) напишем статью к пяти часам.

б) другим будущим действием, выраженным в Present Simple, в придаточных предложениях времени и условия. При этом Future Perfect может использоваться только в главном предложении: e.g. I shall have finished this work before you return. Я уже окончу эту работу до того, как вы возвратитесь.

Exercise 23. Put the verb in brackets into the Future Perfect Tense.

1. We (finish) all the house work by 6 o’clock this afternoon.

2. I (read) this book by tomorrow evening.

3. Thousands of people (see) this exhibition by the end of the month.

4. They (build) this house long before the end of October.

5. They (do) half of the journey when they reach the Volga.

Exercise 24. Answer the questions in the Future Perfect Tense, using the words in brackets.

Example: Will you still be asleep if I call you at eight? (get up)
