Oil and gas industry is one of
the most important industries for every country because energy is the
basis for the development of country's economy. The progress in
industry depends on the skill of specialists working in this
industry.
The
training of engineers for oil and gas industry was and is paid much
attention
to in this country. Academician I.M.Gubkin founded our University in
Moscow. He is known for his scientific and practical work in
different fields of geology. In 1924 Gubkin founded the Institute of
Research
of Petroleum, which he headed for a long time. It has been
transformed
into Moscow Oil and Gas Institute and later into the State University
of Oil and Gas.
Thousands
of highly qualified specialists for oil industry are trained
there.
The University has become a scientific and educational center
of
training
specialists for practically all spheres of oil and gas industry
processing engineers specialists
in Oil and Gas pipeline construction and
transportation,
mechanical engineers, storage designers, electronic
engineers and economists, drilling
and
production engineers.
The
university provides all facilities for educational and research
work.
