Methodological Recommendations

It is necessary to stress the difference in meaning of the term «reliability» from the terms «stability», «durability» and «vitality». It is important to study mechanism of organization transfer from one state to another considering the aims of management. (in order to increase efficiency in functioning in terms of international competition).

It should be noted that the reasons for this organizational transformation is the efficient industrial risk management and it used to be the key process in reliability engineering in terms of science intensive enterprise innovative development. Practically any modification of the enterprise leads to a number of risks changes and as a result influences the company’s reliability. Therefore the reliability engineering efficiency starts its formation on the stage of engineering the system for innovative industrial risk management that is of great importance for science intensive industries in terms of international competition.

Tasks for Individual Students Work.

Individual work is to be done in the form of lecture notes. The written work should contain the main definitions, units and principles which are indicated in the following federal standards:

1.GOST R 53470-2009 Industrial product reliability. Terms and definitions.

2.GOST R 27.001-2009 Industrial product reliability. Reliability management system. Fundamental principles.

3.GOST R 27.003-90. Industrial product reliability. Content and general rules for reliability requirements. Applied reliability theory.

Outline reliability elements for the set science intensive companies and define reliability engineering features in accordance with the outlined elements, suggest possible ways to increase reliability of science intensive productions using institutional, structural and system approaches in terms of international competition.

Master’s students are suggested to choose a science intensive enterprise that has international marketing experience as an object of their research. (For example, OJSC “Tatneft”, OJSC “Rosneft”, “Nestle” Ltd, and etc.). Using theoretical materials the students have to elicit reliability elements, make hierarchy of these elements, describe functional links and analyze the tools and management actions that can be implemented on the site to increase science intensive industry in terms of international competition, as well as considering development features of the organization and specific features of national economics be able to suggest possible ways to increase reliability of science intensive productions using institutional, structural and system approaches in terms of international competition, give reasons for the answer. The work is to be done individually. Computer class is required with access to the Internet.

Central Questions

Defining science intensive company reliability. Reliability elements eliciting within the set company. Influence of the environment on the science intensive companies reliability when choosing management mechanisms.

Methodological Recommendations

It should be noted that the process of the reliability elements eliciting is interconnected with the main lifecycle stages of the enterprise, specific features of its development and dynamic of the environment changes.

In the course of the topic study, using institutional, structural and system approaches it is necessary to define which factors influence the science intensive enterprise management reliability in international environment.

Tasks for Individual Students Work

Individual work is to be done in the form of lecture notes which have to contain the following information:

1.Synthesis of low complexity systems with the prescribed

reliability.

2.Estimating sensitivity indices (functions) of systems reliability.

3. Increase of science intensive enterprise management system reliability using efficient forms of risk management.

Topic 1.3. System Analysis and reliability assessment of science intensive productions with different types of redundancy.

1.3.1.Redundancy, ways of redundancy, creating group and individual redundancy.

1.3.2.Methods of reliability calculation in engineering. Fault tree

method.

1.3.3.Functional management indicators; readiness indices, recovery probability exponential distribution, complex duration indices.

The topic of the practical class: 1.3 System Analysis and

reliability assessment of science intensive productions with different types of redundancy. Master’s students are to make analysis and quality assessment of reliability on the chosen science intensive enterprise using indices of management, readiness, reliability, duration, innovation and vitality when doing business in different international markets.

Master’s students are suggested to choose a science intensive enterprise that has international marketing experience as an object of their research. (For example, OJSC «Tatneft», OJSC «Rosneft», «Nestle» Ltd, and etc.). Using theoretical materials the students have to use indices of management, readiness, reliability, duration, innovation and vitality when doing business in different international markets. The work is done by creative groups of 2-3 people in each team, group division can be performed by the professor. Computer class is required with access to the Internet.

Central Questions

Redundancy. Ways of redundancy. Creating group and individual redundancies. Renewable and nonrenewable elements.

Methodological Recommendations

It is necessary to study thoroughly the processes, forms and types of redundancies, as well as engineering reliability methods after redundancy implementation because more often redundancy allocation is caused by the system faults.

It is obligatory to understand the difference of the terms «nonrenewable» and «renewable» element. Nonrenewable is the element that cannot be renewed in definite situation. Renewable is the element that can be renewed under the same conditions. Referring to it reliability indices for different elements of the system are to be studied.
