Words to remember

hold sb/sth back (v.) – to delay the development of something be in the market for something – to want to buy something

run (v.) – if a bus, train etc runs, it travels somewhere at regular times on board – on a ship or plane or aircraft

private eye ( n.) – a private detective – a person whose job is discovering information about people

solve (v.) – to find the reason or explanation for something

whodunit (n.) – a book or film usually about a murder, in which you do not know who the murderer is until the end

track sth/sb down (ph.v.) – to find something or someone after looking for them in a

lot of different places

pull into (ph. v.) – if a vehicle pulls in/into somewhere, it moves in that direction and stops there impact (n.) – a powerful effect that something has on a situation or person
