1. Cities

Seoul serves as the capital of South Korea. Pyongyang is the capital of North Korea. Pusan is Korea's principal port and second largest city. Taegu, Korea's second largest inland city, is midway between Seoul and Pusan. Taejon is a major train junction for the Seoul-Pusan line and is rapidly becoming one of Korea's major scientific centers. Inchon in South Korea is a Yellow Sea part.

Seoul was the site of the 24th Summer Olympic Games in 1988. It has been the capital since the founding of the Choson Dynasty more than 600 years ago; Seoul is today a metropolitan city of more than 10 million people. Although a modern city, Seoul also preserves the history of its past. Choson Dynasty palaces are situated in the city center. Namtaemun and Tongdaemun, the two main gates of Seoul in the days when it was a walled city, are the sites of bustling and exciting traditional markets. Choson Dynasty architecture is renowned for its beauty and its ability to be in harmony with nature.

One can enjoy a lot of charming and delightful places in Seoul: antique temples, Grand Park, the national Museum of Contemporary Arts, Seoul Tower, Seoul Horse Racetrack. Folk Village is a unique glimpse into the lifestyle of Korea's past. Potters, weaves, blacksmiths and other craftsmen practice their trades here in the traditional fashion. Yonging Everland is a comprehensive leasure complex with the magnificent Hoam Art Museum which displays over 5,000 pieces of art.
