Z. Ye. Fomina: Inroductory Remarks of Editor-in chief of the Scientific Newsletter «Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-didactic Researches»

Issue 4 (15) of the linguistic Series of the Scientific Newsletter “Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches” contains the following sections: "Linguistics", "Methods and Didactics of Teaching Foreign Languages", "Intercultural Communication", "Theory and Practice of Translation". This series presents 13 papers.

LINGUISTIC SECTION reflects theoretically and practically important research results of the scientists on the problems of phraseology and paremiology, emotive linguistics, theory of discourse, theory of metaphors, etc. Linguistic section contains the articles of the following authors: PhD of Philology, Associate Professor G.S. Borodkina, Applicant, Senior Teacher L.N. Kriatchko, PhD of Philolo-

gy, Associate Professor I.Yu. Lavrinenko, PhD of Philology, Associate Professor I.V. Guyduk, PhD of Philology, Professor Z.Ye. Fomina.

The work of PhD of Philology, Associate Professor G.S. Borodkina (Voronezh State University) concerns topical problems of emotive linguistics. Its subject matter is dominant emotional concepts in the German language and its Austrian dialect (exemplified by the concept

«Freude»). According to the author`s observations, categorical palette of emotional lexemes, rich spectrum of semantic types of the words of “joy”, a wide range of syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations of lexemes, verbalizing the concept „Freude“ proves wideness and immensity of the processes of conceptualization of the basic emotion of joy as the most essential component of the emotional world picture.

The object of investigation of Senior Teacher L.N. Kriatchko (Voronezh State Technical University) is the concept “Modern city” in man's information and communication environment represented in the English fiction discourse. The author studies linguistic means of the objectification of the new technical and technological realities that create the information and communication environment of a modern city dweller, which is reflected in the modern English fiction contexts. As a result of the research the authors come to the conclusion that the 21st century language personality’s thesaurus is rich in terms of the sublanguage of the information technology alongside with the common language lexical units.

The article of PhD of Philology, Associate Professor I.Yu. Lavrinenko (Voronezh State Technical University) concerns the problem of the cognitive structure of the emotional concept

“anger” in the philosophical discourse of F. Bacon. On the basis of semantic-and-cognitive analysis the author reveals the means of verbal representation of the concept “anger”, as well as the basic parameters of its cognitive structure. The key features of its architectonics of the emotional concept “anger” determined in the result of the analysis are: instability, latent character, spontaneity, sociocentricity, and ambivalence.

The article of Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor I.V. Guyduk (Voronezh State Technical University) is focused on the connotative functioning of precedent names in the modern media texts. The author represents the classification of precedent names with terminological value and proves its specific characteristics. The source-spheres of precedent names are, in the author`s opinion, the sphere of politics and management, economy, patronage, cinema, sport, science. On the functioning of the name-symbol, not connected with some definite precedent text, the addressing to invariant of its perception may take place. In I.V. Guyduk opinion, this group is the most numerous in the Russian press.

In the article of Doctor of Philology, Professor Z.Ye. Fomina (Voronezh State Technical University) the phenomenon “Nature” as a spatial continuum characterized by Russian naturemorphine proverbs with spatial semantics is analyzed. The interrelation is revealed between the

6

ontological specific character of the linguistic categorization of nature (in the context of its consideration as a spatial substrate) and the nationally-substantiated code of the Russian culture. It was found that the global nature of the continuum of space, verbalized by the Russian paremies, is determined by 4 subspaces (hydronimic, phyto-morphine, geographical, terramorphine). Each of the subspaces (sea, mountain, forest, field) is marked by symbol cultural- and-specific and historical senses (patterns) relevant to the Russian culture.

The section “METHODS AND DIDACTICS” represents the results of the topical meth- ods-and-didactics researches. The section contains 3 articles: by Doctor of Philology, Professor Frank Kostzewa, Doctor of Philology, Professor Karell Fure B.K., Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor I.M. Sushkova in collaboration with Ph.D. in Philology Senior Lecturer E.N. Farha.

The article of Doctor of Philology, Professor Frank Kostzewa (Germany, Karlsruhe University, Karlsruhe) discusses the possibilities of developing a curriculum for “German as a foreign language in Korea” on the basis of long experience of the German language teaching in the Korean schools and Universities (since 1954 to 2007). The attention is mainly focused on the aims and contents of education that were previously described and later modified and perfected. Based on these descriptions the author makes attempt to develop modules for a qualification of teachers in the area of German as a foreign and second language.

The work of Doctor of Philology, Professor Karell Fure B.K. (Cuba, University of Havana) concerns some important aspects of semaseology, comparative typology and their close connection with the methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language. Some aspects of the theory of semantic valence are analyzed that opens wide prospects for the study of syntactic content of a sentence. Emphasis is made on the orientation of the researches from content to the form in a syntax that allows us to consider certain semantic contents of a sentence. Firstly, the sentences with different semantic and formal structures, but united by a specific, single content category. The value of this approach for comparative typology of languages as well as its invaluable importance to the practice of language teaching are proved.

The article of Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor I.M. Sushkova (Voronezh State University) in collaboration with Ph.D. in Philology Senior Lecturer E.N. Farha (Voronezh State University) is devoted to the predicative means of expression of relations of belonging in Russian, English and Spanish. The problem of differentiation of various types of possessive relations depending on the semantics of the possessor and the possessee is analyzed. The authors come to the conclusion that structural and semantic similarities of these linguistic means in examined languages confirm the universality of the typical meaning of ‘belonging’.

The section INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION contains two articles: by postgraduate student L.V. Korobko and by post-graduate student O.V. Zhujkova in collaboration with Doctor of Philology, Professor Z.Ye. Fomina.

The aspect of research of post-graduate student L.V. Korobko (Russian Air Force Military

Educational and Scientific Center “Air Force Academy named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky and Y.A. Gagarin” (Voronezh)) is the study of features of names of music pieces representation in the literary discourse of Vladimir Orlov (on material of the novel «Violist Danilov»). The nominations of music realias are studied as the fragment of the lexical-semantic field «Music». 3 lexical-semantic groups of the nominations: names of classical music compositions, names of pop songs and names of fictional composition are revealed. The study of cognitive-and ontological basis of the nominations of music realias showed that they are verbal nominants of culturally important points reflecting national character and mentality of the Russian ethnos.

The work of O.V. Zhujkova (Voronezh State Technical University) in collaboration with Doctor of Philology, Professor Z.Ye. Fomina represents the analysis of the cognitive models of vegetative metaphor in philosophical discourse of V. von Humboldt for linguistic categorization of such philosophical constants as “language”, “humane”, “reality”, “civilization”. As the authors of the article point out, the priority of vegetative metaphors in the philosophy of Hum-

boldt is mostly determined by the influence of Romanism, as well as by the specifics of the German national-and-cultural code and individual features of world perception of the German thinker.

The section TEORY AND PRACTICE OF TRANSLATION contains the articles of the colleague from Algiers Miloud Mohamed Rachid and the colleague U.I. Nazarchuk from Pridnestrovie.

The problems under investigation of Miloud Mohamed Rachid (Algiers University 2 named after Abu Elkassem Saad Allah), Teacher of Turkish and Russian languages is research of the problem of the relationship between the sublanguages of computer and nanotechnology. The author analyzes the characteristics of word formation processes of nanocomputer sublanguage and argues that the achievements of the modern information technology and the inevitable introduction of nanotechnology in the information sector will form in the near future a brand new vocabulary section — nanocomputer sublanguage. On the basis of this research the author attempts to propose a collaboration of linguistics in matters of systematization and unification of nanocuputer terminology.

PhD of Philology, Associate professor U.I. Nazarchuk (State University of Pridnestrovie) addresses the problem of description and practical use of modern information technologies which are necessary for the work of an interpreter. The ability to apply electronic means help to optimize the work of interpreters and it considerably increases their competitiveness. The author analyses electronic resources and computer programs, used in the translation activity.

The section SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION represents the report of Doctor of Philology, Professor Z.Ye. Fomina (Voronezh State Technical University, the Department of Foreign Languages) concerns the Results of the 27-th International Congress "European - Trans-European: Nietzsche`s View from Afar" (Germany, Naumburg, 22.09 -25.09, 2016.), organized by the Society and Fund of F. Nietzsche (Europäisch – Übereuropäisch. Nietzsches Blick aus der Fern. European – Supra-European. Nietzsche’s View from Afar. 27. Internationaler Kongress der Nietzsche-Gesellschaft und der Friedrich-Nietzsche-Stiftung). The section also contains the information by PhD of Philology, Associate professor L.A. Erofeeva and PhD of Philology, Associate professor V.I. Chechetka on Participation in the Courses of Teachers Training organized for the Teachers of the German Language of the Russian Universities in Potsdam University (Federal Land of Bradenburg, FRG, Potsdam) 8-th – 26 th August 2016.

In this issue of the Scientific Newsletter, as well as in all the previous ones the works of our foreign colleagues from G e r m a n y (Karlsruhe University), A l g i e r s ( Algiers University 2 named after Abu Elkassem Saad Allah), C u b a R e p u b l i c (University of Havana) as well as by the author of the near abroad, particularly, from P r i d n e s t r o v i e (Tiraspol University) were published.

The scientific problems analyzed by the honorable authors demonstrate the acute tendencies of the modern linguistics, methods and didactics of foreign language teaching, intercultural communication, theory and practice of translation. We suppose that the fourth Issue of the fifteenth Series will be interesting and useful for a large number of linguists, foreign language teachers, culture experts, philologists, philosophers, post-graduates and students, as well as for

all our domestic and foreign readers.

LANGUAGE REPRESENTATION OF DOMINANT EMOTIONAL CONCEPTS IN GERMAN AND AUSTRIAN-GERMAN

(BASED ON CONCEPT "FREUDE")

This article investigates the emotional concept "Freude" as a part of the German and Austrian concept sphere. The results of a comprehensive analysis of the verbal manifestators of concept Freude" are given in the categorical, paradigmatic, syntagmatic, cognitive and structural-morphological aspects. The article presents the results of describing relevant characteristics of joy emotion obtained in the study of psy- cho-physiological, negative, kinematic, temporal and local lexis and comparative structures. The reflection of the conceptualization of emotions by means of structuralsemantic models, in which joy is demonstrated as a result, but not as a motive of human activity, is considered. Metaphorical components of concept "Freude" are described. The peculiarities of the national-cultural specificity of the lexical items of the class "Freude "in German and Austrian language world are determined. The author emphasizes the special cognitive value of national-cultural connotations connected with the question of German and Austrian people identity. These connotations are identified in the structure of the national concepts and reflect linguistic and cognitive unity with the concept of "Freude".

Key words: emotion, emotiology, emotional picture of the world, emotional concept sphere, emotional and evaluative lexis, lexical lacunas, national-cultural specificity of the conceptualization of emotions.

One of the priorities in emotiology is the study of the emotional picture of the world. Emotional picture of the world as a set of emotional concepts is a world-view projected emotional sphere of consciousness and reflection of the axiological priorities of the national picture of the world [1, p. 6]. The particular interest to this research area emerged in the twentieth century, particularly in the works of such linguists as E. Sapir, S., Bally, M. Breal, G. Guillaume, and others. At present the problems of emotiology are investigated by such scientists as V. I. Shakhovsky, A. Wezhbitskaya, V. I. Zhelvis, N.A. Luk'yanova [2] and others. Emotiological problems are widely discussed on the material of different languages and cultures, including the material of German-speaking countries: Z.Ye. Fomina [3, 4, 5, 6], T.N. Ryapolova (2001), T.N. Syromyatnikova [2003], E.A. Mokshina (2004), V.I. Chechetka (2005), E.A. Demidkina (2007), O.V. Pasechnik (2007) and others.

Today, emotive linguistics is actively developing. Its ideas, methods and techniques, theoretical and methodological basis, conceptual basis are the base for forming new scientific directions, such as "Emotive linguoecology", "Cultural linguistics of emotions", "Gender antilogia", "Cognitive-discursive antilogia", etc. [7,8]. The analysis of the actual dissertation researches shows that the description of concepts as a holistic mental units promotes circulation to the complex techniques of systematization and the etymology of most frequent parts of speech emotional and evaluative lexis, description of the relevant features of emotive lexis and means of manifestation of its emotional capacity. However, the studies of emotions in the language appear to have fragmented sight. (Fomina, 1996, 2006 and many others). Some separate works are devoted to the description of linguistic means of objectification of concepts: a) in the lexico-phraseological system of the language, b) in structural and semantic representation, c) in the study of the combinatory properties of the lexemes naming the concepts, d) in the comparative modeling of cultural concepts, e) in building cognitive models of individual concepts, etc. It should be noted that for all the relevance of the study of emotional concepts generated to date the concept of culturally significant meanings consists of images of mental formations that are not related to the emotional sphere.

This work is devoted to studying the dominant emotional concept of "Freude" - "joy" in the German language [9] and Austrian variant [10, 11]. The relevance of the study stems from the fact that its linguistic expression is seen in the chronological aspect. The article summarizes the results of a study of verbal representation of the emotional concept "Freude" from the end of the90-ies of the last century to nowadays. The purpose of the study is to define national and cultural specificity of conceptual metaphorization of the signs of "joy" in the German and Austrian language picture of the world on the basis of a comprehensive study of lexical means verbalizing the concept of "Freude "in German and its Austrian variant.

The study is based on the basic provisions of the linguistic theory of emo-tions, and developed the first systematically set out in the doctoral study Z.Ye. Fomina (1996), monographs (1999, 2006, 2013), as well as the method of analysis emotional-estimated lexicon presented in the works of Z.Ye. Fomina. [12].

The integrity and objectivity of research is provided by a large amount of different analyzed lexemes with a rating of "joy", extracted from the electronic catalog of literature developed by the head of the project "Österreichisches Deutsch" Professor R. Muhr (University of Karl and Franz, Graz, Austria) 1. The empirical base of the research is added with the computer archives of newspaper publications for the period from the end of the 90-es of the 20th century to the present time.

Positive emotions of joy, pleasure, enjoyment and happiness are human seeking and always evaluated with delight and admiration. Joy is "an elixir for body and soul" (Leibniz). The results of the analysis show that the basic similarity of semantic types of joy is noted in fiction and newspaper texts.

The most frequent semantic type is a joy with signs of pleasure, satisfaction, ecstasy, serenity, tranquility, peace, etc. (530L).

The number of different types of joy involves:

joy "in spite of" (58 L);

overshadowed joy, loaded with happiness (47 L);

"superhappiness" ("mind-blowing" happiness) ( 35 L);

"quiet" joy, undercurrent happiness (6 L);

unshakable joy (4 L).

According to our observations, in fiction and newspaper-journalistic texts the verbal explication of "joy" is carried out mainly in two ways:

1 Electronic catalog of works of art, designed R.Muhr, includes more than 35 works of contemporary German writers [T.Bernhard, H.Hesse, H. Konsalik, I.Bachmann, B.Frischmuth, F.Innerhofer и др.).

10

Series «Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches» Issue № 4 (15), 2016

1)the first method consists in the description of the emotion class "joy" as one of the objects of reality which is accessible to external observation;

2)the second method involves the description of the author's own emotional experiences, his personal emotional experience, associated with "joy." The key characteristic of emotions is their objectification in a language similar to actually perceived objects.

The broad paradigm of emotional lexemes, helping to objectifiy the concept "Freude", reflects and proves the frequency of language consciousness in verbalizing a wide variety of types and shades of emotion "joy". Emotional lexemes of class "joy" are characterized by semantic proximity at the level of conceptual core and do not coincide at the level of the peripheral value. Compare: the lexeme "fun" and "unexpected happiness" belong to the class of "joy" and verbalize other emotional realities in, e.g. "fun" ≠ "unexpected happiness" (Spass ≠ Massel).

The comparison of the basic lexemes of joy verbalizing considered concepts establishes that the value defines only the conceptual outline of the structure of concepts. The concept of "Freude" itself in addition to the conceptual center, which focuses on generally accepted (conventional) understanding emotions of "joy" includes interpretive signs, the so-called author's (conventional) concepts. Being a result of individual linguistic consciousness the author's concepts reflect the contemporary processes of conceptualization of emotions, the cause of which lies in the dynamism of the emotional sphere, its "elusiveness" for the language consciousness, which seeks to capture the emotion, if not by individual lexemes, but in a different way, for example, in the phrases with objects, adverbs, using the comparative structures of metaphorical judgment, etc. For example, along with the well-known ideas about "joy", which is expressed in a language such as "satisfaction", "ecstasy", "carefree", "serenity", "peace", etc., in the considered texts different types of "joy" are verbalized, reflecting individual conceptual characteristics of the Austrian cultural-national specificity "zwischen "gut aufgelegt" and "echt grantig" (Aut. "between "good mood" and "really bad mood"), "und glücklich unglücklich" ("happy and unhappy"), etc., which are the basis for the formation of the so-called AC (author’s concepts).

Thanks to a variety of syntagmatic relations, which are characterized by basic lexemes "joy", the significant conceptual signs of joy contained in the kernel of the concept in a latent form are reflected in the language. With the help of adjectival lexemes the result of careful reflection and search of adequate resources, appropriate understanding of man's inner world, painted with positive emotions is given.

After analyzing the most frequent lexemes of "joy", we found that they tend to form word combinations of the following types:

1)[Adj. / Adv.] + [emot. Sub.];

2)[emot. Sub.] + [emot. Sub.];

3)[so / zu + Adv.] + [emot. Sub.].

With the help of these expressions linguistic and cognitive processes easycollage nuclear and peripheral components of the signs – the intensity / extensity ("groß" is "riesig" "heftig"/ "leicht" - large" "huge" "hard"/ "easy") limit / infinity (höchst / unbegreiflich - maximum / incomprehensible), dynamic / static character ("wachsend" / "ständig" - “growing" / "constantly”) are reflected in the language.

Depending on the value of the adjective there have been pointed the signs of emotions of "joy" that reflect the cognitive tendencies of the unified code of perception of reality, the material and the ideal, when mental phenomena, like substantive entities that are "mapped" using

the "grid settings" – "size",

"volume" (große Furcht, große Freude - great fear, great joy),

quantity (siebenmal, viel, zweimal, doppelt, dreifach Gaudi - seven times, a lot of, twice, double, triple Gaudi),

"length" (500 Meter Gaudi - 500 Metres of Gaudi),

11

Series «Modern Linguistic and Methodical-and-Didactic Researches» Issue № 4 (15), 2016

"geographic coordinates" (steiermarkweites Glück - Styriawide happiness), etc. "Ethnic" adjectives reflect the uniqueness manifested "joy", based on national and so-

cio-economic factors, e.g.: "Austrian happiness" ("österreichisches Glück").

In phrases with positive evaluative adjectives, the concept of "joy" is verbalized as

"light", "unshadowed", "clean" feeling (helle Freude, ungetrübte, reine, pure Freude). In the phrase sprichwörtliches [Massel] the national-specific idea of "unexpected happiness" as "fairy-tale" feeling is reflected. (e.g.: in the Russian language for the lexeme sprichwörtlich: Sprichwort (proverb) there is no lexical equivalent).

With the help of words with expressive component explicated emotional "overlap" joy,

in particular, is specified for such relevant signs of "happiness" as

the immeasurability/immensity (Es schien die Ergriffenheit e i n e s w u n s c h l o s e n

the desire for an "open" joy, pointing to the desire "to share" joy, joy "visible to all ". Compare.:

(Nigerian eagles for their victory over the Spaniards plunged their country into a state of joyful dizziness and intoxication. Immediately after the whistle of the referee hundreds of thousands of Nigerians flocked to the streets and celebrated as if the morning had not come yet) (our Translation).

The reinforcement particles so zu reflect the subjective perception of the author’s emotions, leeding beyond the level of sensations. Compare: Ich bin viel zu glücklich.

Verbal explication of the emotion "joy" is also carried out by means of auxiliary lexical means, among which associative-appraisal, psycho-physiological vocabulary, neyraudia words, the kinematic, temporal and local lexemes related to the number of specific types of emotive vocabulary are widely used [8].

In the study, it was found that among the associative-emotional vocabulary "Freude" is dominated by words with a specific meaning, denoting real objects. It should be assumed that the basis of "successful" verbalization of emotions is focused on the relations of conceptual semantic compatibility between words, which reveal concrete and abstract concepts. The semantic compatibility of the lexemes "joy" and the relevant associative-emotional lexemes is due to the actualization of their connotative value of this "joy."

Associatives of joy from newspaper and journalistic texts are particularly pragmatic expressiveness, which is achieved by using expressive words as well as words-intensifiers of emotion (so, zu, etc.).Compare:

" S o e i n e G a u d i haben wir schon lange n i c h t m e h r gehabt", sagte Stephan Eberharter nach dem gestrigen doppelten Triumph - So fun we have had already for a long time," said Stephan Eberharter after yesterday's double Triumph (We haven't had such fun fo years!) [2*, 14.Dezember 1998]; (our Translation).

Lexeme der Triumph: die Freude über einen Erfolg oder Sieg expresses strong feelings as a result of the success, victory achieved by great effort and labour.

Some separate associative-emotional lexemes reflect the role of "joy" in the sociogerontological aspects:

Party [eng.): ein privates Fest mit Essen, Trinken, Musik usw.- the word Party is used most often in the language of the young and has a sign of "fashionable" word.

In the German and Austrian national consciousness the relationship between emotional concepts and diverse realias of reality is clearly shown. For example, the emotion "joy" is correlated with a variety of spheres, in particular, with

the different realities of national nature ("Freude"- Gebirge, Berge, Täler, Flüsse, Hügel etc.- "Joy"- mountains, hills, valleys, rivers, hills, etc.);

national holidays and their attributes ("Freude" – Fasching; Entzücken – Rosenfest - Joy – Carnival; Delight - Rose festival),

the most preferred flowers / fruit ("Freude" - Maiglöckchen, Wildorchidee, Rosskastanien, die Engelstrompeten, Orchideen, Rosen Lieblingsblumen, die Campsis usw.- "Joy" - Lily of the valley, wild Orchid, horse-chestnuts, the trumpets of angels, orchids, roses favorite flower, Campsis, etc.).Compare:

Es ist ihre Liebe zu Rosen, die Köchin und Buchautorin Andrea Grossmann und ihr

Mann Karl animierten dazu, ein duftes Rosenfest zu gestalten. Tauchteт Weil sie [die
