1. Introduce yourself to the people on either side of you like in a first meeting.

3. “How do you do” is formal and now quite rare. It is being replaced by “Pleased/Nice to meet you”. “How are you?” is not used for the first meeting, only for greeting someone you already know. Think of possible replies to these introductions. It is the first meeting.
