DSTU
Don State Technical University (DSTU) is the biggest dynamically developing centre of science, education and culture. During its activity the University has trained more than 60000 engineers, technologists, programmers, economists and other specialists. Hundreds of Doctors of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Doctors of Science (D.Sc.) successfully defended their thesis. About three thousand specialists have been trained in DSTU for 58 foreign countries.
Having the state certificates of degree DSTU graduates work in Russian and foreign scientific and design organizations, firms, banks, in governmental, educational and private enterprises.
Nowadays more than 7000 students, including 300 foreigners, and 150 post-graduates get education at 12 faculties and there are 4 representative-universities in Volgodonsk, Taganrog , Azov and Essentuki.
Highly qualified scientists carry out their professional activity in many areas of up-today science and techniques. 20 members of Russian and International Science Academies and 6 Honoured Workes in Science of The Russian Federation are among them. More than 75 per cent of the staff has the scientific degrees in different knowledge.
Our University has 6 buildings for studies, scientific and practical work. There are libraries, computer halls, workshops, health center, sport halls and summer campus for students and professors at the sea-shore of the Black Sea, comfortable students hostels, and university cultural center. DSTU gives you a chance to be well-educated, mobile and creative.
Don State Technical University takes a special place in the educational complex of the South region. About 13 thousand of students study at 12 faculties in 43 specialities. None of other university in our region has such a unique range of professional suggestions. There is a great number of different traditions at our university; among them there is succession of generations, special atmosphere of mutual understanding and mutual support.
TUITION
The Preparatory Department works for the foreign citizens coming to DSTU to study the Russian language and common natural sciences. The whole course of study at the Preparatory Department takes a year. The Russian language Courses are also available at DSTU.

POST-GRADUATE EDUCATION
Don State Technical University trains scientific specialists at post-graduate and Doctorate courses.
The post-graduate courses for the future Ph.D. and D.Sc. degree specialists include more than 20 specialities (follows).
There are six thesis defense councils on 13 specialities at our university.
SIENTIFIC ACTIVITY AND RESEARCHES
Don state technical university is a powerful scientific center of the North-Caucasus region. DSTU embraces scientific schools of 6 directions:
• physics and mathematics; technics; economics; history; philosophy; pedagogy.
The most important scientific researches, which are being carried out in DSTU.
The most essential task of the scientific, experimental, developmental work and researches is to bind together the university science and manufacture. It is provided, on the one hand, through collaboration of DSTU with a number of industrial associations of region, in particular, through participation in the association “High technology”, which embraces large-scale industrial enterprises of the South of Russia and, on the other hand, through the activity of the South-Russian scientific training center of innovational business placed in DSTU.
Also, the regional departments of three professional academies operate on the basis of DSTU: the International academy of science, ecology and life safety, Russian academy of technological sciences and Russian academy of problems of quality.
