Employment

Nowadays companies are choosing choose employees very thoroughly. They want to have the best of the best in their staff. Of course different companies have different requirements to their employees. One company recruits only young and easy going people in order to train them precisely to own requirements. Another company wants a steady performer with a large experience. So, an applicant may have different qualities that help him to get a job. Apart from applicants’ qualities such as age, sex, appearance, intelligence, experience, skills and qualification there are a number of other factors that could be very important for getting job. Among them it is possible to mention contact and connection, family background, references; even a quality of handwriting or marital status may be important.

Nevertheless, in spite of the fact that companies are hypercritical concerning their employees sometimes they make serious mistakes. Choosing the wrong candidate may leave an organization paying for years to come. I mean that company may invest thousands in the recruitment and training but in the result get nothing, the incapable of learning member of their stuff. The most spread company’s serious failures with their employees are: people, who panic at the first sight of stress; hypochondriacs whose absentee record becomes astonishing; and the unstable person later discovered to be a thief or worse. Les dramatic, but just as much as problem, is the person who simple does not come up to expectations, who never becomes a high-flyer or even a steady performer. Some people believe that personality can change but it is not true. People don’t change. At the present time the majority of company’s interviewers bear in their minds this simple truth. That’s why it is really difficult to pass the job interview successful for some people. So, in order to pass the interview successful an applicant should find out the suitable job that appeals to him. He could ring up the Press Officers or the Marketing Department and get the latest press releases or perhaps an annual report. The annual report, for example, will say where the company operates and the products it sells. Then, during the interview, it is good to congratulate the interviewer on a recent success the company’s had. An applicant should be interested and enthusiastic about the job because, after all, that’s what the employer looking for in the candidate. Sometimes it’s necessary to find out what the dress code is. Candidates should also have a clear conception about their future achievements in the long and short terms. Recently applicants that don’t have such conception are not popular among employers. Finely, the CV of candidate should be well written and easy to read. Apart from all of that applicants should know 3 factors that make them efficient as an employee. The first factor is intelligence and ability it means that employee should be clever, bright and sharp and shouldn’t be astute. The second factor is emotional stability. Employers want calm and easy-going people but not moody, neurotic or quick-tempered. And the last factor is conscientiousness. Bosses like reliable, hard-working, responsible and punctual employees. And they hate slow workers especially if they loose behavior.
