Travel

The most terrible problem for the businessman traveling by air is the delay of his plane. In the result he may lose a profitable contract or very important partner. Once businessman that was very frustrated by a delay flight stormed onto the runway, took out a pistol and shot out the aircraft’s front type.

Apart from delay business travelers face a lot of other problems while traveling by air. The main one among these problems is seating requests. A lot of business travelers have specific seating requests. Some people want an aisle; some people want a window, some people want to sit next to their colleague. Sometimes it is very important for business travelers to get a right seat. For certain passengers it is very dramatic to have the possibility to discuss things with colleagues while they are traveling by air. But an airline is not always able to give everyone the exact seat they want because aircraft maybe fully booked.

The next problem that a business traveler face is the lost or damage of his baggage and as a rule it is very difficult for him to find out were his baggage was lost or how it was damaged. For the official representative of Customer Service it is very tricky task as well because obviously overseas airlines very large organizations.

One of other problems that passengers face is downgrading. Sometimes due to commercial pressure airlines have to oversell flights. Occasionally they miscalculate (ошибаться в расчетах) and have to downgrade passengers to a lower class – for example from First to Business Class or Business to Economy. Obviously those passengers aren’t happy about this at all and Customer Relations managers have to solve this kind of problem in different ways, for example by offering repayment or to pay in addition for aeroplane ticket. So, in such a way airlines solve the problems of their clients in order to satisfy them and increase the number of their potential customers. Apart from improving service with the aim to increase sales of aeroplane tickets airlines use the promotion of business travel in order to gain new clients and to keep existing regular customers. For example Alpha Airlines offered to their business travelers who have flow to the Emirates in the previous year to fill questionnaire and help them with their research of client’s views. And as a reward for the participation in their research they sent to their business travelers’ free flight voucher that could be used by the business traveler to claim a free Economy ticket if he took a first or business class trip.

But in spite of the fact that airlines try to satisfy their clients and improve their service very often they face passenger misbehavior. The cause of most passenger misbehavior is stress and alcohol. The aviation consultancy recently discovered that 200 out of 700 major incidents noted by a US carrier over six-month period were alcohol related.
