Now I would like to give the floor to our sponsor, Director of the American Scientific Society, Jane Roberts.
J. Roberts: Dear friends! I am pleased that so many scientists from all over the world have come to attend this conference, and I am very impressed by your work. Especially I would like to note the achievements of the Russian delegation. All their reports were devoted to the development of modern technologies in metallurgy, automobile and chemical industries and even to the fight against terrorism. Besides, the Russian young scientists were most active during the discussion. They asked a lot of questions.
The American Scientific Society decided to sponsor their further research and to give everybody two hundred thousand dollars. We wish them great success. And in 2 years, when we meet in Rome July 2, 2010 we’ll have a chance to listen to their results. Thank you all.
Chairman: Now I am closing our conference. I think we’ve done a good job. I hope your participation in the conference was productive and professionally satisfying. I appreciate very much the contributions by all researchers.

Grammar Reference Система видо-временных форм английского глагола в действительном залоге
В английском языке глагол-сказуемое в предложении не только относит действие к настоящему, прошедшему или будущему времени, но и придает действию дополнительную характеристику, например, завершенности действия к определенному моменту или, наоборот, протяженности, незаконченности действия в течение некоторого периода времени, или регулярности совершения действия. Поэтому система английского глагола представлена группами, каждая из которых объединяет три времени (настоящее, прошедшее и будущее) и имеет одну и ту же характеристику.
Группа времен Simple
Эта группа времен показывает регулярность действия или единичный факт в настоящем, прошедшем или будущем времени.
Present Simple
Подчеркивает регулярность действия или единичный факт в настоящем времени.
e.g. 1. We translate English texts regularly. – Мы регулярно переводим английские тексты.
2. I usually go to the University on foot.– Я обычно хожу в университет пешком.
3. He reads newspapers every day.– Он читает газеты каждый день.
В 3 лице единственного числа к глаголу добавляется окончание ‘s’. Вопросительная и отрицательная форма образуется с помощью вспомогательного глагола ‘do’. В 3 лице ед. числа окончание ‘s’ переходит на вспомогательный глагол.
e.g. 1. Do you speak English? – No, I don’t. I don’t (do not) speak English.
2. Does she translate English texts regularly? – No, she doesn’t. She doesn’t (does not) translate English texts regularly.
Этому времени часто сопутствуют следующие обстоятельства:
always, usually, often, frequently, sometimes, seldom, rarely, never, every day (morning, week, month, year).
Обратите внимание на порядок слов в предложениях с наречиями этого типа: I often go to the theatre at the weekend.
