IV. I would like to watch something interesting on tv. What can you advise me to watch?

It depends on your interests and mood.

1. If you like to keep fit and watch sports, I advise you to watch Eurosport.

2. If you would like to relax after a hard working day, you should watch a good fiction film or

listen to music on some music channels.

3. If you want to broaden your outlook, you had better watch such channels as Discovery, Animal Planet, National Geographic. They are quite educational and provide you with programmes of good quality.

4. There are programmes devoted to people’s hobbies, for example, gardening, fishing, travelling. You can try some of them.

V. What would be the world like without the Internet?

The Internet is widely speeded all over the world. Millions of us have two different lives: one is in real world and other is online. The importance of the Internet can scarcely be overestimated. It gives us an ability to do and to have whatever we want. Every day millions of users open their favorite websites, use e-mail and other means of connection. It is not necessary to use telephone to make international calls. Using the Internet we can talk with our friends, relatives, co-workers from any country in the world. Most of the people use the network only for sending and receiving e-mail messages. The rest of us can freely use the Internet to make online purchases or sell your personal goods. You can find new friends or even love through the Internet. Now you can work through the internet, gambling and playing through the net. Today teenagers use Facebook for social networking, they search and research topics with Google, watch videos on YouTube, and download music from file-sharing sites. So it’s impossible to imagine our life without the Internet, as it is the part of it.

I. Let’s talk about sport and a healthy way of life.

I think, in today’s fast-moving world people are looking for effective means of keeping fit and being healthy. Everyone wants to look good and feel good. It’s a difficult task because there are too many temptations (соблазны) around. From my point of view, a healthy way of life includes a balanced diet, exercising regularly, having enough sleep, socializing with other people, devoting free time to hobbies, being an optimist and feeling good about yourself.

I put eating habits in the first place, because people can’t live without air, water and food. To my mind, a healthy diet should contain vegetables, fruit, nuts (орехи), dairy products (молочные продукты), drinking a lot of water.

Sport is the best and shortest way to keep fit. A lot of people are fond of fishing, walking in the forest, travelling, gardening, playing sport games, going to the swimming-pool or to the gym.

II. Do you agree that bad habits, like smoking, can be dangerous?

I agree that such bad habits as addiction to junk food, smoking, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, addiction to computer games, television and the Internet can be dangerous. All of them lead to poor health and constant stress. They shorten our lives dramatically.

III. What questions would you ask your personal coach about the ways to keep fit and healthy?

My questions will be:

1. What diet should I follow?

2. Are there any special exercises which I should do regularly?

3. What products should I exclude out of my ration?

4. How often should I go to the gym?

IV. What can you advise a person who wants to lose weight?

My advice will be:

1. You should eat healthy food and drink a lot of water.

2. If you go on a diet, you should try to lose weight gradually (постепенно).

3. You should burn more calories than you take in.

4. If I were you, I would spend your free time in an active way.

V. What is your diet like?

I have three meals at home. Sometimes I have lunch and buy snacks at the lyceum. I like … (meat, chicken, potatoes, pasta, salads, fresh fruit and vegetables). Usually I drink tea and juice. I am fond of pizza and I have a sweet tooth. I like ice-cream, different cakes and sweets. But I don’t eat them often, mostly when I hang out with my friends. In general, I try to eat healthy home-made food.
