Task 4. Translate the following passage into Russian from " A second year passed" up to " a bus accident on October 11th, 1951”.

Task 1. Look through the text and find all the sentences with the Passive Voice. Put questions to the words in bold type.
1.He was never seen again.
2.Their two children were unfortunately more influenced by their mother than by their father.
3.A lifetime was spent this way.
4.By midday the police had been called in.
5.Uncle Oscar's name was seldom mentioned.
6.But later when they were questioned, the people at the bus stop couldn't remember seeing him that morning.

Task 2. Read rules 15 and 16 and make one sentence out of the two given using Oblique mood.

Uncle Oscar married Aunt Agatha. That’s why he was unhappy.

Task 4. Read the story below and retell it using conditional sentences like in the model.
Model: If Ben hadn’t offered to help his neighbour, he wouldn’t have climbed the ladder.
Ben offered his neighbour fix the roof. So he climbed up the ladder, but fell and broke his leg. He went to hospital. He met Linda there. They fell in love and got married six months later. In a year their first baby was born.
