RADIO AND TV IN OUR LIFE

It is impossible to imagine our life without radio and TV. Radio and»TV are widely used in today's world. It is the quickest means of spreading news and information. Radio plays an important role in reflecting the life of society and building opinions, in entertainment. Radio performs the service of information well enough but on TV everything is much more real. Radio and TV keep us informed about current events, extend the education, allow us to follow the latest developments in science and politics and offer an endless number of programs which are both instructive and entertaining. So, they give us a lot of useful information.

When I come home, I turn on the radio and go about my household duties. The best radio stations for mе are Europe Plus and Hit FM. They broadcast many interesting programs, but I prefer to listen to news and music. I watch TV in the evening. Sometimes we can watch rather interesting movies on TV. Here are different kinds of movies, for instance: an action movie, war movies, detective movies, adventure movies and comic movies.

My favorite channel is the «TV 1000», Discovery Channel and ORT, because they satisfy my different interests in the best way. There are many interesting programs for me. I like these programs, because there are not so many advertisements. Also, every weekend there are many interesting movies and programs, which are popular all over the world. Also there are lots of programs, whore everyone can win something. That's why, I think, we can't live without TV and radio nowadays.

Mass media or mass communications are the press, radio and television.

Every day we read newspapers and magazines, listen to radio and watch TV. Nowadays there are so many newspapers id magazines, radio stations and TV channels that we have to be very -selective and give preference to some of them.

What newspapers and magazines do I prefer to read? I like to read the following newspapers: «Komsomolskaya Pravda» («Komsomol Truth»), «Argumenty i Fakty» («Arguments and Facts»)

Several periodicals are available in English. As far as newspapers are concerned they may be daily, or weekly Magazines may be weekly, monthly and quarterly.

The newspapers and magazines I read are the most readable and have a large readership or circulation. For example, «Argumenty i Fakty» has a circulation of more than 23 000 000. It is the largest in the world. The newspapers contain and give coverage of local, home and foreign affairs. Their publications deal with very burning problems of our history, latest events and forecasts for future. They also touch upon cultural, sport news. I like the way they present different points of view, approaches to the problems. My parents and I subscribe to some periodicals, so we are subscribers. We buy some of newspapers and magazines in a kiosk.

I often listen to radio, especially in the morning before I leave home. I prefer to listen to «Mayak» («Light-house») program. They broadcast much news and music. I like to listen to weekend programs, some of them are very amusing and entertaining.

As to the TV, we have 24 channels. I prefer to watch youth programs.

In addition I like to see interesting films. They might be feature, adventure, scientific, horror, cartoon and other s. Now and then I like to see the program « Love at First Sight». It is an enjoyable and entertaining one.
