1. She said he would give him a pound. Theman still hesitated. "Come on," she said, "it's an easy way to earn a pound."

"Oh, I know that," he answered, "I was only wondering how I should get the paint off afterwards."

A schoolmaster asked his class to write a description of London. He was surprised to read in one of the compositions: "The people of London are stupid."
