The Future in the Past
The Future in the Past Indefinite
I should work we should work
– you would work
he, she, it would work they would work
He said that he would come at ten o'clock.
The Future in the Past Continuous
I told them that at two o'clock the following day I should be having a music lesson.
Образуется оно из вспомогательных глаголов should или would + инфинитив в Continuous (=be + 4-я форма глагола):
I should be working we should be working
– you would be working
he, she, it would be working they would be working
The Future in the Past Perfect
He said yesterday that by the time we were back he would have finished the letter.
Образуется оно из вспомогательных глаголов should и would + инфинитив в Perfect (= have + 3-я форма глагола):
I should have worked – he, she, it would have worked |
we should have worked you would have worked they would have worked |
Future in the Past Perfect Future in the Past Perfect Continuous
Modal verbs in the attributive subordinate clauses
Не knew he had to stay in. His friend was going to ring him up.
I said he must stay in. He's ill.
He said that all children must go to school when they are 7.
I didn't know you could get tickets for us.
I didn't know I could take the book home.
I told him that he should consult a doctor.
