Выполните и оформите контрольную работу в соответствии с требованиями, представленными в п.1-5 содержания пособия.

Для того чтобы правильно выполнить контрольную работу, необходимо усвоить следующие разделы курса:

  • Reported Speech (просьбы и приказания в косвенной речи).

  • Придаточные предложения времени и условия.

  • The Past Continuous Tense.

  • The Past Perfect Tense.

  • Производные от some, any, no, every.

  • Эквиваленты модальных глаголов.

Задание 1. Раскройте скобки, употребляя модальные глаголы и их эквиваленты.

Lady Wyatt's Written Account and the Store Detective's Report

L. W.: On Wednesday morning I went to Hall's Department Store to do some shopping and to meet a friend for lunch. In the Ladies' Fashion Department I (buy) a belt and a bag and (pay) for them. As I (wait) for the lift to go up to the Rooftop Coffee Lounge, I (see) a silk scarf that I (like). I (try) it on and (decide) to buy it. I (look) around for an assistant to pay but (can) not see anybody. B: In order to become a law all bills must pass both Houses and must be signed by the President

Задание 9. Составьте диалог на основе следующего текста.

The judicial branch of the government is the system of courts in the USA Its job is to enforce laws. The Supreme Court is the highest court in the country. It consists of nine justices: one Chief Justice and eight associate justices.

The US President appoints the justices, but the Senate must approve them. The justices are appointed for life. The judicial branch works together with the legislative and executive branches to protect the Constitution and the rights of the citizens of the USA.
