Volume and content of course design
Volume of explanatory note (EN) is 40-45 pages of hand-written text (penscript). Volume of graphical material is 2 pages of А1 format. Specific content of EN together with task for the course design (CD) and content of graphical part of project are detailed in thematic chapters (topic) below.
Organization and supervision of course design
The task for CD issued by the teacher leading practical works and CD. Totally for CD it’s given 14 weeks during semester. Approximate dates of certain parts of the project
Familiarity with the requirements of topics, rules of EN typography and graphic part, the issuance of tasks are at the first week;
Performance of parts: 1st - 1-3 week, 2nd - 4-6, 3rd - 7-10, 4 - 11-12. Sitting (Hand-over)of EN for checking – 12s week. Defending of CD - 13-14 week. Student performs CD independently in the terms intended for practical work and CD in time-table. A student must report about performed work to the teacher who makes the marks in the fulfillment schedule and after checking EN assigns a specific date of project protection. During grading teacher pays particular attention to the justification of solutions; to the proper understanding of physical processes occurring in the electric drive in various operating modes; the calculation and design aspects of the report
Guideline for typography of en
Guideline for typography of EN fully contained in the standards of enterprise СТП 15-96. Explanatory note to the course and degree projects. Regulations and rules of performing. General requirements of EN performing:
EN should be made on sheets of A4 (210x297) format, but it’s possible to use sheets not less 200 х 290;
it’s necessary to leave the fields (left field size - 20 mm, right – 10, top – 20, bottom - 20 mm) from all sides of the sheet;
EN should have a cover of dense white paper (this is cover sheet of EN and its first page at the same time); also it’s allowed to realize the title page in typewritten (typescript) way;
Pagination of EN is through, the page number is put in Arabic numerals in the upper right corner (page number is not set on the front page);
figures need to be performed on separate sheets of plotting paper -A4 or A2 (420x297) their numbers are through; figures should be put exactly afterwards the reference in the text of EN;
- Digital material (computational results) should be provided in a table. Tables are numbered within a chapter, for example: "Table 4.3" - the third table of the fourth chapter. In the text of EN table should be placed after the first reference to it. Moving the table to the next page words: "extension of the table ..." with the given number are placed over it.
- EN should contain: title page, abstract, contents, introduction, fundamental part conclusion, list of references; - In EN it’s necessary first to write a formula in a general way then substitute numerical values in the same consecution as in the formula. Then give the final result in units of measurement.
