The given option of the menu of the console allows to establish additional connection. For example, the device working through 10th port, is one of key in a network. Link with it should not interrupt under any conditions. For this purpose you create an additional line through 9th port. In case of failure of 10th port, 9th will automatically intercept its functions and link with the device will be carried out through it.

5. The laboratory tak

5.1 to Enter into system from the computer connected to the switch through COM-port, and to install connection by means of the program tip (tip com1).

5.2. In the laboratory task it will be involved five computers. In an initial status all of them belong to one network. To be convinced available links between all computers by means of ping command. IP - addresses of computers receive from teacher.

5.3 To divide available quantity of computers into virtual networks as follows:

1. Computers 1 and 2 belong VLAN2

2. Computers 3 and 4 belong VLAN3

3. The computer 5 is the common server, and belongs to both VLAN.

5.4 To be convinced available links in everyone VLAN, absence of link between computers from different VLAN, and presence of link of computers from both VLAN with the common server. Numbers of computers connection ports to the switch receive from teacher.

5.5 To customize port 5 on operation in a full-duplex mode with the control of a full-duplex stream.

5.6 To customize port 6 on operation in a half-duplex mode with the control of a half-duplex stream.

5.7 To show results of operation to the teacher then to restore switch factory settings.
