Выполнение и оформление контрольных заданий
Контрольные работы включают в себя устные сообщения на определенные темы, задания по грамматике и работе с текстами.
По устным темам необходимо подготовить пересказ. Задания по грамматике, перевод текста и задания к тексту выполняются письменно в отдельной тетради, аккуратно, четким почерком. При этом следует оставлять в тетради поля для замечаний, объяснений и методических указаний рецензента. Выполненное задание направляется для проверки в вуз в установленные сроки или сдается студентом лично в деканат.
Проверка письменно выполненного задания проводится преподавателем, который в зависимости от степени усвоения материала студентом делает заключение: “Допущен к собеседованию” или “На доработку”.
Контрольная работа № 3 включает в себя:
1. Разговорная практика. Устные сообщения и беседа по темам “The United States of America” и “Environment Protection”.
2. Грамматика: Инфинитив. Инфинитивные обороты. Типы предложений: простые, сложносочиненные и сложноподчиненные.
3. Работа с текстом. Чтение и перевод текста общетехнического содержания. Выполнение заданий к тексту.

The United States of America is the 4th largest country in the world. It is situated in the central part of the North American continent. Its total area is over 9 mln sq. km. The country borders on Canada in the north and on Mexico in the south.
The country is washed by 3 oceans: the Arctic, the Atlantic and the Pacific. The country has many lakes and rivers. The longest rivers are the Mississippi, the Missouri, the Columbia. There are many mountains in the country, the highest of which are the Rocky Mountains, the Appalachi, the Cordillera.
The climate conditions are rather different. The country is rich in mineral resources: oil, gas, iron ores, coal, gold and other metals.
The USA is a highly developed industrial and agricultural country. The main industrial branches are automobile, electronics, aircraft, rocket and others.
The country population is over 250 mln. The USA comprises 50 states and 1 district – Columbia. Each state has its own capital. The capital of the USA is Washington. It is situated in the district of Columbia on the banks of the Potomac river. There are many large cities in the country: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, Boston, San Francisco and some others.
The USA is a federal state headed by the President. The powers of the Government are divided into 3 branches: legislative, executive and judicial. The legislative power belongs to the Congress consisting of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Senate represents the states and the House of Representatives – population. The executive power belongs to the President and his Administration. The judicial power belongs to the Supreme Court and the system of federal courts.
The largest political parties are the Republican and the Democratic. Today the USA is one the leading powers of the world due to its economic, political and military influence.
