Why brands matter? Some people dislike brands, don’t they?
What is a brand? In my opinion, it is not only a trademark of some company, but the name of certain product we use every day. For example, speaking about coffee most of us say Nescafe, but not "coffee". This short example also illustrates the main aim of producers - to create brand popularity, so that most of people would recognize the product among the competitors products.
Advertising campaigns are launched to enhance brand awareness, that is why sometimes brand costs more than the whole company. For example one day of advertising at Yandex website (what is called by Yandex sales managers as "increasing brand popularity") costs $20,000. Recognition of a brand or, how it is called, brand awareness helps people to find the necessary size, quantity, taste, especially, when they are in another country and do not know the local products" specifications.
Brands always add value to products. That is why branded products seem to be more expensive among other ones. But if we pay more, we want to get a better quality, and it is not guaranteed. All in all, brands are one of the moving forces of globalisation.
Yes, some people dislike brands, because consumers tend to choose brands based on their emotional appeal.

To talk about gift-giving, your gift should be of good quality but modestly prised. Giving gifts is a common in the workplace, and the reciever is expected to give a gift in return. Good gift is something from you country or office items with you company’s logo. When you plan to give a gift to several people within an organisation, be sure to give a gift of greater value to the senior person. Regarding entertainment, you should not forget, that drinking is important part of doing business. It is common to be invited out in the evening to a resturant where there will be a lot of alcohol. Make sure that you know one very simple song and do your best. Refusing to sing is considered bad manners.
What sort of people are high performers? What do you think motivates them to stay with the same company?
High performers it’s people with limitless energy and enthusiasm. They are full of ideas and get things quickly and effectively. Such people can push their organisations to greater and greater heights.
But it very difficult to keep high performers at the same company. Organisations should know motivating factors for this people.
The first motivating factor for it’s money.
For high performers as well as for any people one of the most important factors is money. Unfortunately, we live in a world where you can’t survive without money, so it is always a major (main) factor for any person.
But there are another factors that must be considered. Empowerment is a particularly important force for a new talent. Wise employers offer to high performers to feel that he or she "OWNS" a project in a creative sense.
The challenge of the job is another essential factor. High performers should be sure that their company know where it’s going. Another way they easily become demotivating.
Also, a platform for self-development should be provided. High performers need to have opportunity to develop their skills.
Organisations should provide time for regeneration. High performers need available tome for creative thinking.
What advice would you give a business visitor to UAE?
In UAE the hosts usually set the subject of conversation. They will ask some polite questions, for example, how are you, do you enjoy your visit and so long, and then they tell you the subject of previous conversation and invite you to contribute.
Giving gifts in this country is very difficult. First of all it’s because of mixture of nationalities. Secondly, you can buy nearly everything in UAE less expensively than elsewhere in the world. You should buy the best gift you can afford, because your colleagues will open and carefully examine it in your presence.
What’s about entertaining? Locals often entertaining at home but they will accept a foreigner’s invitation to a hotel or restaurant. Hospitality is very important part of doing business, but shouldn’t be interpreted as a future commercial success. Also you should be aware of their customs. For example, it’s considered bad manners to it or offer something with the left hand.
Why do some people buy brands? Are you loyal to brands?
