Group work. Environmental Posters ( Вправа – ділова гра)
Teacher: To sum up, I ask you to create your environmental posters and slogans and pin them to the notice board for everyone to see and heed to them. (Pupils work in groups of 3 to create posters and slogans using the templates below):

Teacher: Thank you for your work today. You have all been very active and diligent. (Gives marks) I believe we will do our best and save the wonderful planet we are living on. Let’s all do something and let’s sing a song “Wonderful World” together with Lee Armstrong. (Pupils watch the PPT and sign along):

Teacher: Your homework will be Ex. 5 p. 76 SB. Please, write an open e-mail to people telling them how to improve the environment in our town. Use the ideas we've talked about today.

Завдання уроку:
1. Тренувати учнів у використанні навчального матеріалу за темою в комунікативних ситуаціях.
2. Навчити учнів працювати в команді і малих групах.
3. Формувати в учнів активну громадянську позицію.
4. Формувати навики критичного мислення.
5. Виховати почуття відповідальності за свої вчинки.
6. Переконати учнів, що кожен із нас навіть маленькими вчинками може змінити світ на краще.
Унаочнення: плакат із темою уроку, глобус, постери, індикаційні картки, інструктивні картки для роботи в малих групах.
Хід уроку
І. Організаційний момент:
На прохання вчителя учні зачитують тему уроку і з’ясовують, про що йтиметься на ньому.
II. Вступне слово вчителя й бесіда з класом:
We are inhabitants of Earth. Our planet is our home. But it is in danger because much of it is dirty or dying. What is the reason for this situation on our planet? What environmental problems does our planet face? Please, write down one problem on a of paper, stick it to the globe and explain why it is so important to your mind.

III. As you can see our planet does face very serious problems. The situation is so serious that some scientists say either we stop killing our planet or we’ll kill ourselves. Pollution causes other ecological problems, doesn’t it? But is it possible to stop the pollution of air, water, and land at all?
Учні висловлюють свої думки і пояснюють їх. В ході обговорення вони приходять до висновку, що забруднення неможливо повністю припинити, бо неможливо зупинити прогрес, закрити фабрики й заводи, не використовувати комп’ютери, не досліджувати космос і океан, не використовувати холодильники, сучасний одяг, пластикові пакети, телевізори і т.п.
You are right saying that it’s impossible to stop the pollution of Earth. What can mankind do to protect Earth, our home? Is there any way out of this situation?
Учні дають свої пропозиції і приходять до висновку, що забруднення можна й необхідно контролювати!
