3. Translate the following sentences.

Oil has been known to exist in Azerbaijan since ancient times. 2. The cargo does not seem to have been damaged by the storm. 3. This invention is considered to be of great importance in shipbuilding. 4. The negotiations are likely to continue until Saturday. 5. The cargo of this steamer is stated to consist of 3,000 tons of wheat and 2,000 tons of barley. 6. The parties are reported to be considering the question of extending the agreement for 6 months. 7. Lake Baikal, which is said to be the deepest lake in the world, is fed by 336 rivers.

4. Open the brackets using the appropriate form of the participle.

Условные предложения. Сослагательное наклонение после I wish

Существуют три вида условных предложений.

If the weather is fine, we shall play outside.

If you ring me up, I shall tell you something

Если погода будет хорошая, мы будем играть на открытом воздухе

Если ты мне позвонишь, я тебе кое-что расскажу.

If the weather were fine, we should play outside.

If you rang me up, I should tell you something

Если бы погода была хорошая (сегодня, завтра), мы бы играли на открытом воздухе.

Если бы ты мне позвонил (сегодня, завтра), я бы тебе кое-что рассказал.

If the weather had been fine, we should have played outside.

If you had rung me up, I should have told you something

Если бы погода была хорошая (вчера), мы бы играли на открытом воздухе.

Если бы ты мне позвонил (вчера), я бы тебе кое-что рассказал.

После глагола wish следует использовать сослагательное наклонение:

I wish I lived in the South — Жаль, что я не живу на юге.

I wish she had taken part in the concert — Жаль, что она не приняла участие в концерте.
