Scientific Gatherings

Conferences play a great part in achieving coordination. Usually they are sponsored by the central scientific organizations, whose tasks include the planning of meetings of researchers.

A scientific conference is usually convened by an Organizing Committee. It is set up to decide where and when a conference should be held. The Committee sends circulars and application forms to potential participants. The information sent out includes the basic conference programme, as well as details of registration, hotel reservations, necessary expenditure, and so on. Researchers interested in the topics to be discussed are invited; they are registered to submit applications and abstracts of papers by a specified date (deadline). Depending on the number of papers a conference may last from 2 to 10 days.

A Chairman, elected by the promoters of the meeting, directs the conference. He is responsible for directing debates according to the agenda, maintaining order, and supervising a vote where necessary.

Environmental protection

We are living in a time of rapid scientific and technological progress, which is accompanied by an ever increasing consumption of the world's natural resources.

Such vital sources of life as air, minerals as well as fauna and flora are being wasted and destroyed. Environmental protection has become one of the important global problems that plagues the world now. Special measures should be taken to protect the atmosphere and the land from pollution, control the use of water resources, save plants, animals and birds from annihilation on an all-mankind scale.

It is the scientists who best realize the serious nature of the problems that beset people living on Earth. They can weigh, most accurately and judiciously, the drain on the world's resources, the effect of global pollution, the dangers to a fragmenting ecology. Scientists must accept a good share of responsibility for the less than desirable side effects that have accompanied the industrialization of the world. They are also responsible for the elaboration of effective ways of preventing or reversing pollution, elegant methods of cycling resources. All this will clearly depend on steadily increasing scientific knowledge and on steadily increasing the wisdom with which this knowledge is applied. Scientists are most likely to rise above the limitations of national and ethnic prejudice in the name of mankind as a whole. They speak the same language, professionally, and accept the same mode of thought.

An Outstanding Scientist

Gennady Alekseevich Atanov was born in 1 September 1939 in Donetsk. In 1963 end the Kharkov Institute of aviation. Be engaged in rocket manufacturing. He worked in Donetsk National university. Was one of founders of the Donetsk opened university and Donetsk institute of social education. He is a member of council of directors of the International association on water jet technologies, secretary of national committee of Ukraine on the applied and theoretical mechanics, the International council about an artificial intellect in training, the International association on a training computerisation. Has written 6 monographies, has more than 140 publications on hydrodynamics and more than 80 publications on didactics.

Gennady Alekseevich Atanov is the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, the candidate of technical sciebce, the academician of Academy of sciences of the higher school of Ukraine. He is included in editions «Outstanding people of the XX-th century», «Who is who in the world», «500 leaders of influence», «Outstanding people of XX century», «2000 outstanding scientific XX-th centuries», «2000 outstanding intellectuals of XX century» which produced the American biographic institute and the international biographic centre.
