Important tips: this tutorial is applicable to E&L AK GEN II. User of GEN I is required to remove the outer barrel before taking gearbox out (namely, step 12 should be implemented after step 25).
I. How to take out gearbox
1. Press down dust cover locker, lift it and remove dust cover.
2. Push dust cover locker forward and then lift it. At this time,
charging handle rod can be pulled out from the rear.
3. Slide the charging handle backward to the end of cartridge
receiver and take it out.
4. Screw out the selector screw with selector screw pincers.
5. Remove selector lever.
6. Screw out grip screw with slotted screwdriver.
7. Take out grip.
