Safety and redundancy
Advanced algorithms terminate the charge on incorrect voltages, mismatched cells and temperature extremes.
Cold charging
Li-ion batteries can only be charged above freezing temperatures; nickel-based batteries should be trickle charged if below 5°C (41°F). The UCC provides the right charge.
Hot charging
The UCC halts charge if Li-ion reaches 50°C (123°F). Nickel-based batteries resume charge after cool down and trickle charge when full.

Inactive batteries
Over-discharge often render Li-ion batteries unserviceable. Boost enables a re-charge
