1. The house I live in is little. – Будинок, в якому я живу, маленький.
Для англійської мови є характерним безсполучникове приєднання означального підрядного речення. При перекладі на українську мову необхідно вживати сполучник який.
2.Дієслово to like – подобатись і прикметник like – подібний, схожий
графічно співпадають.
3.Зверніть увагу на прийменники at, in, коли вони вживаються зі значенням часу: at seven – о сьомій годині;
in seven minutes – через сім хвилин.
3. Читання
My name is Alex. My family doesn’t live in a big place like Kyiv. The place we live in is not as big as Kyiv is. We don’t live in a big block of flats. We don’t have big blocks of flats in our town. The house we live in is little but I like it. I don’t like big blocks of flats. I live in the house next to a big shop.
But now I live in Zhytomyr and study at Zhytomyr State Technological University. I take computer studies here.
I always get up at six and begin my day with a cup of coffee. I seldom have tea when I get up. I have a cup of black coffee, take my bag and go out.
I like to go to my University on foot but I don’t like to do it alone. So I go to the bus-stop. The bus-stop is at the post-office.
I often meet Peter Black at the bus-stop. He lives in the block next to the post-office and studies at our University too. If we have time, we go to University on foot. If we don’t have much time, we go by bus. We get on the bus and in seven minutes we come to University. It takes us only seven minutes to get to University by bus. Our classes begin at eight. We usually have classes till twelve thirty.

Nick's Letter to His Mother
It's a cool November day. Cold wind is blowing. The day is gloomy. It looks like rain. Winter is coming. It's cold outside in the street.
Today is Friday. It’s seven o'clock in the evening. Nick is in his room in the hostel at the moment. He is sitting at his desk and writing a letter to his mother:
"Dear Mummy! I go to classes every day but Sunday. It's evening now and I'm not in class. I am sitting here alone in my room and writing a letter to you. The day is cold and gloomy but it's warm and nice here in my room.
At the moment I'm thinking of our village and of you, my dear people. When I think of all of you I try to imagine what each of you is doing at the moment.
What is Daddy doing now, I wonder? He is always busy on the farm but it's late and he must be at home at the moment.

Perhaps he is reading a newspaper now. He likes to read newspapers in the evening. Mummy, you are always busy with your housework. Are you doing some housework at present, I wonder?
Max is a good footballer and he is also good at tennis. He goes to the sports club almost every evening. I don't think he is at home now. Is he playing tennis or football this evening, I wonder?
Anna is a factory worker, but she is certainly not at the factory now. Her weekend is coming. It is Saturday tomorrow. And they don't work on Saturdays and Sundays. Perhaps she is on her way home now. Does she come home every weekend?
And what is Helen doing now, I wonder? She isn't at school I think. Is she watching some TV programme at the moment? Perhaps she is. She likes TV so much.
The winter vacation is coming in two months and I hope to see all of you
soon.
