There is strong a tendency in CES to avoid stressing two syllables in succession:

The most frequent type of a rhythmic group includes 2-4 syllables, one of them stressed, others unstressed.

A rhythmic group may comprise a whole phrase, like “I can't do it"

or just one word: "Unfortunately...“

or even a one-syllable word: Well...; Now....
