1.	Porcelain people use as tableware and art objects is usually beauty-fully painted. Придаточное определительное предложение		Фарфор, который люди используют в качестве столовой посуды и художественных изделий, обычно красиво расписан.
2.	A commodity expert should know wool fibers are quickly destroyed by strong alkalis. Придаточное дополнительное предложение		Товароведу следует знать, что волокна шерсти быстро разрушаются под воздей-ствием концентрированных щелочей.

ВАРИАНТ №1

1. Перепишите предложения, в каждом предложении подчеркните сказуемое, определите его видовременную форму и залог. Предложения переведите (см. образец)

1. Wood has been used as a structural material from the earliest periods of human history.

2. New synthetic fibers are being invented and tasted now.

2. Перепишите следующие предложения, подчеркните инфинитивы и определите их функцию. Предложения переведите на русский язык:

1. Peltries to be used in the same garment must be alike.

2. To select the proper dye for a fiber, it is necessary to know which dyes have an affinity for vegetable, animal, and synthetic fibers.

Leather

1. Natural leather is made of skins of domestic and wild animals. It is one of the most ancient materials used by man. There are three the most commonly used types of leather: smooth leather, polished leather, and suede.

2. Smooth leather is made from the highest quality raw materials. It is not polished, only hair is removed. Pores remain in their natural state, which allows the leather “breathe”. Products made of this type of leather (usually furniture, outwear, and shoes) are very durable. In the course of wearing such products natural patina appears on their surface.

3. Polished leather porous on one side and smooth on the other side. When processing the side of the skin which is covered by wool is polished. After polishing the leather is obligatory painted.

4. Suede "fuzzy" on both sides. This material is less wear-resistant than smooth leather. Suede is cheaper because its natural structure is preserved only partially after all treatments. However, it is in great demand and manufacturers use different techniques to give a smooth leather appearance to suede. For example, glue is applied on one side of the suede. Treated this way the material is passed through pressure rollers; that side of suede, on which the glue was applied, takes the form that resembles the surface of the smooth leather.
