History and structure of Kemerovo merchant-coke plant

If you look at the world map, you'll see that Kuzbass is located almost in the geometric centre of Eurasia. On a map scales it takes not more than a kopeck size space – it is around 95.5 thousands square km. However it is one of the richest regions in the world concerning mineral resources.

The most important Kuzbass resource is coal. Geologists estimate coal supplies in Kuzbass to be about 375 billion tons. Is it a lot or not? You'd better to judge yourself: it has been mined for about 5 billions of coal during all the region development history, and coking coals make a half of all the resources. Kemerovo merchant-coke plant – JSC "Koks" – was the first to begin their industrial conversion in 1924. Kemerovo – now Kuzbass regional centre – grew up nearby it. The city is connected with the whole world by trunk railways (магистральная железная дорога) and motorways, and air transport. Kemerovo airport belongs to the international airways infrastructure. The distance from Kemerovo to Moscow – the capital of Russia – is 3482 km. Having become the management company, JSC "Koks" declares about it presence all over Kuzbass. There is the limited liability (с ограниченной ответственностью) Company "Uchastok "Koksovy"at the Prokopievsk-Kiselevsk coal field. At the foothills of Salair the factory "Inertnik" produces inert dust from local limestone. The building of a new mine of coking coal (fat sort) production is being planned not far away from
