“No medical professional in the current scenario can afford not to continue learning and updating the latest advances,” MCQs in General Surgical Oncology is a comprehensive compilation to help surgeons, residents, or students learn the basics to the nuances of oncological surgeries related to the gastrointestinal and endocrine systems. This book provides quite a few multiple-choice questions that comprehensively cover almost all aspects right from basic principles to challenging surgical techniques and management following surgery. The questions are very well framed to pose a real-life situation, challenging the reader on the application of his/her knowledge and power of reasoning. Explanations and references for each question round out the text, adding value in serving both as a self-assessment and exampreparation guide. First of all, I must congratulate the authors on this wonderful compilation, which, without a doubt, will go a long way in achieving its goal of serving as an aid for good surgical educational practice and better patient care in the eld of oncology.

Surgical oncology is one of those elds where one is able to boast that they are masters only with the greatest difculty. This book MCQs in General Surgical Oncology turns on the spotlight for one to illuminate their way to that great goal. This book equips the reader with a thoughtfully selected set of multiple-choice questions exploring the subtleties of diagnosis and management in GI and endocrine system cancer. Valuable for everybody who wants to deepen their understanding in surgical oncology, from medical students to advanced surgeons. Questions have been so designed that they are evocative of critical thinking and re-emphasize on key concepts, while the detailed explanation of why each answer is the way it is holds invaluable insight. In this foreword, I nd the embodiment of authors’ commitment to moving medical education forward with their continued struggle against cancer. This book is not merely a pedagogic tool; it should be looked upon as a companion to the ardent man or woman in the quest for saving life through surgical excellence.

Preface
https://t.me/med1917
Surgical oncology is a dynamic, ever-evolving discipline with enshrined understandings in surgical oncology. It is aptly said that the journey of a surgical oncologist is all about learning and adapting continuously because new ndings and development are continuously changing our approach toward treating cancer.
It is with this backdrop that MCQs in General Surgical Oncology has been con-
ceived. This book is meant to provide an all- embracing review of the key concepts and techniques in surgery relevant to the gastrointestinal and endocrine systems vis-à-vis oncology. This is in order to ensure that the format that is used is exible enough for the reinforcement of knowledge and self-assessment. Therefore, the format was a multiple-choice question (MCQ).
Every question in this book is very well-drafted and forces the reader to prod his
gray matter, applying not only his recall-based but also critical thinking and problem- solving faculties. Clear answers, often with explanations that make the eld of knowledge even clearer, are offered.
This book is written for a broad audience from medical students and surgical
residents to practicing surgeons, who are willing to refresh or perhaps update their knowledge, and for board-exam candidates, who are preparing for certication exams. We hope this collection of MCQs will be useful in your endeavor for excellence in surgical oncology.
We are immensely grateful to the authors for invaluable contributions and exper-
tise and to the patients and mentors. This book may help you along with this very responsible road to becoming a good and compassionate surgical oncologist.
