Conditional Sentences
Условные предположения первого типа выражают предположения относящиеся к будущему времени. В таких предложениях глагол главного предложении употребляется в Present Simple, а глагол придаточного предложения в Future Simple. Ex: If the weather is fine tomorrow, we shall go to the country.
Условные предложения второго типа выражают предположения относящиеся к настоящему или будущему времени и соответствуют в русском языке условным предложениям с глаголом в сослагательном наклонении(т.е глаголом в форме прошедшего времени с частицей бы). В таких предложениях глагол главного предложения употребляется в сочетании should V1/would V1, а глагол придаточного предложения в Past Simple.
Ex: If I saw my friend tomorrow, I would ask him about it.
Условные предложения третьего типа выражают предположения, относящиеся к прошедшему времени. Они соответствуют в русском языке условным предложениям с глаголом в сослагательном наклонении( т.е с глаголом в форме прошедшего времени с частицей бы). В таких предложениях глагол главного предложения употребляется в сочетании should have V3/ would have V3, а глагол придаточного предложения в Past Perfect.
Ex: If he had asked me yesterday, I would have told him everything.
