Получил степень бакалавра в университете Сонгюнгван на факультете китайского языка и литературы, магистра в Школе международных отноше$ ний KDI, ученую степень доктора наук — в Пекинском университете по теме китайско$южнокорейских отношений. Работал в исследовательском центре проблем объединения университета Енсэ. В настоящее время является руко$ водителем Центра политических исследований исследовательского Инсти$ тута китайско$южнокорейских отношений при университете Вонгван.

Основные темы академического интереса: вопрос объединения Корей$ ского полуострова, отношения КНР и Республики Корея, отношения Китая и России. Работал в Шеньчжене и Гонконге во время реформ и открытости КНР. По возращении в Корею в течение 10 лет занимался предпринима$ тельством. Вместе с семьей жил в Москве, несколько раз совершал путеше$ ствие по Транссибирской железнодорожной магистрали и воочию увидел возможности России.

В настоящее время является членом Комитета по северному экономиче$ скому сотрудничеству при президенте Республики Корея, членом политиче$ ского подкомитета Специального комитета по мирному сотрудничеству в Северо$Восточной Азии при парламенте Республики Корея, членом Коми$ тета пров. About the author

Choi Jae Duk

BA in Sungkyunkwan University, Chinese language and literature faculty, MA — KDI School of International Policy, PhD in Beijing University on Korea–China relations topic. After working as a researcher at Yonsei Uni$ versity's Institute for National Unification, he is currently Head of Center for Politics and Diplomacy at the Institute of ROK–China re$ lations at Wongwang University as associate professor.

Scope of his academic interests includes unification of the Korean peninsula, South Korea–China relations, and China–Russia

relations. He worked as a manager in Shenzhen and Hong Kong during the re$ form and opening of China, and after the returning to Korea worked in business for 10 years. He lived in Moscow, Russia, with his family, and regularly saw the possibility of Russia on Trans$Siberian railway.

He is currently a member of the Presidential Committee of Northern Econo$ mic Cooperation Committee, a member of the National Assembly's Northeast Asi$ an Peace Cooperation Committee, a member of the Jeollabuk$do Korean Exchan$ ge and Cooperation Committee, a member of board of Directors the Korea Inter$ national Political Science Association, and the member of board of Directors of International Cooperation Committee of the Korean Association of Overseas regi$ onal Studies.

Major columns have been contributed to the Hankook Ilbo, the Pressian, and the New Jeonbuk Newspaper.
