Here are some consequences of not having breakfast:

Less ability to think and concentrate.

Less ability to learn.

More stress and irritability (how calm do you feel when you are very hungry?) and more accidents.

Getting fat.

Feeling tired and decreased physical performance (food provides energy for both physical and mental work).

Studies show that people who eat breakfast daily live longer than those who don’t. People who don’t have breakfast also get fat more easily. If you skip meals, you are more likely to eat snacks. Most snack foods have a lot of calories, fat, sugar and salt, and they don’t have many nutrients. This is probably one reason why breakfast skippers put on weight.

For good health, start your day with a good breakfast: for example, whole-grain cereal and/or toast, low-fat milk or yoghurt, fruit, and nuts or peanut butter on the toast. If you get hungry and feel you need to eat between meals, choose healthy snacks (fresh fruit, vegetables, whole-grain bread or crackers, or nuts).

Mobile phones are part of our daily lives. We all use them – housewives, executives, teenagers, and old-age pensioners. According to the ITU – the International Telecommunication Union – at the end of 2002 there were 1390 million users.

Of course, different people use their mobiles for different things, and there is a model for every taste. For example, women usually choose larger phones while men prefer smaller models. For young people, the priority is to send SMS text messages. They like mobile phones with covers they can change. As well as communication, they want entertainment. They want to play games and download ring-tones and icons.

On the other hand, executives and salespeople see their mobile as a work tool. They need to connect to their company computers. Typically they choose a medium-sized model with a large screen to read information. They demand features like a personal organiser, calculator, alarm clock, note pad, recorder reminders and connection to a PC.

There are other people who don’t often use their phones to make calls, but want others to be able to contact to them. Size is not important and they don’t need to connect to the Internet. They want something cheap and simple to use.
