Tortoises are magnificent creatures. They have been on the earth for more than 200 million years. Turtles and tortoises are the only reptiles’ that have a shell. Their bodies are protected by a shell on top and underneath. Tortoises can retract their heads and all their limbs including their tails into their shells when they feel threatened or attacked by predators. Most Tortoises eat both plants and meat. Some kinds eat mostly plants, but other kinds eat mostly small animals. Some Tortoises live in the sea and others live in fresh water. Tortoises have well all round vision and a very good sense of smell. Tortoise can live a very long time to the ripe old age of 150. However, the average age a tortoise can live to ranges from 90 to 150 years.

The cheetah is one of the fastest animals on Earth, reaching speeds of close to 100 kilometers per hour while chasing prey. Cheetahs are big cats, a bit smaller than lions or tigers. Cheetahs have a yellow to brown coat covered with black spots. Their coloring helps them hide in bushes and grass. Cheetahs are built for speed. Their bodies are muscular and streamlined. They have long legs and backs that let them take big steps. They have long tails to help them keep their balance and large hearts and lungs that help them breathe easily. They can live to 12 years of age in the wild and 16 years of age in zoos.

Such different animals exist in our world. People are also different, but this does not prevent us from living on the same planet ...
