5.2. The effectiveness (efficiency) of business communication.

5.2.1. Ethical and psychological principles that determine the effectiveness of business communication.

Communication is effective, when business partners follow the certain ethical and psychological principles (creation of appropriate conditions for the realization of the communicative potential of employees, responsibility for reported information, the willingness and ability to follow the words, the use of means of encouragement (incentives стимули) and punishments in the process of communication, rational use of time spent on communication; decency (honesty)). Let's characterize these principles.

Creation of appropriate conditions for the realization of the communicative potential of employees. Delegation of authority of chief, that is the transfer of some tasks, kinds of activity, to the competence of subordinates promotes it. Specialized activity, some issues, routine and preparatory work, but not the final formulation of the objectives, plans and programs are generally delegated. Goal setting, decision making, monitoring of the results, management and motivation of staff activity, especially important and risky, urgent and confidential matters are not subjected to delegation.

Responsibility for reported information. Each employee must clearly know their official competence (tasks, responsibilities and rights regarding their implementation) and report the information which is within the limits of these powers (credentials повноваження).

Communicating with business partners, we must be prepared to keep words. We must have a formed skill to perform obligations under any circumstances.

Encouragement and punishment in the process of communication. Any person seeks to self-affirmation (самоствердження), recognition in the professional sphere. Therefore the manager must see not only the most active and conscientious (сумлінних) workers, but also mark the success of every subordinate in the process of managerial interaction. At the same time he must watch employees who shirk at their duties and perform their professional functions in bad faith (недобросовісно). They must be punished. But by punishing subordinates, the manager has to take care of their mental and physical health. So, for example, a conversation-punishment can be constructed under the following scheme: positive emotions (high assessment of the individual in general) - negative (analysis of fault) - and again positive (to express confidence that this will not happen again). It is necessary to keep in mind that it is easier to bear criticism against the background of self-criticism.

Rational use of time spent on communication, giving information in certain time limits is an important ethical and psychological principle to ensure the effectiveness of business communication. The principle of priority is one of the most effective principles and techniques use of working hours. It means the distribution of information according to its significance and promotes the avoidance of depreciation (devaluation) of information.

By organizing business interaction, we have to remember that honesty (decency), conviction that it is necessary to be honest in the process of communication and interaction with partners is not only praiseworthy but profitable.
