V. Reading Activities.

1. Pre-reading Stage.

-Have you ever heard such terms as Auscultation, Diphtheria, Sputum, Whooping-cough. Do you have any guesses about their meaning? What are they?

2. While –reading Stage.

-Read and try to memorize the diagnostic and pathological terms connected with the description of respiratory system. ( Ex.8 p.66 )

3. Post-reading Stage.

- Match terms with definitions.

1. Percussion · liquid and mucus caught up from the throat or lungs;

2. Auscultation · serious contagious disease of the throat;

3. Sputum · listening with the ear a stethoscope to sounds within the

body;

4. Rales · an acute infectious disease characterized by repeated attacks

of coughing;

5. Diphtheria · an inflammation of the respiratory passage with labored

breathing, hoarse coughing;

6. Group · an abnormal sound indicating a diseased condition of the

lungs;

7. Whooping-Cough · gentle tapping of the surface of the body as part of a

medical examination.

МЕТА:

• розкрити роль ендокринної системи в житті людини;

• вивчити лексико-граматичний мінімум з теми в чотирьох видах мовленнєвої діяльності;

• навчити студентів використовувати у мовленні анатомічні терміни, необхідні для бесіди з теми.
