Our family is not large. It consists of four members. They are: my mother, my father, my sister and I. My mother's name is Anna Petrovna. She is 40. She is a doc­tor. She is a skilled doctor. Anna Petrovna is a very nice woman. She is tall and thin. She has big brown eyes, a turned-up nose, her hair is fair and long. My father's name is Boris Ivanovich. He is 42. He is a worker. Boris Ivanovich likes his work very much.

3. Make up a conversation between your teacher and you. You begin the conversation. Your examiner will play the role of your foreign friend. Your foreign friend is phoning you. He wants you to meet him at the airport. Ask him when he is arriving, where he’d like to go and what to see in your native town.

A book is one of the greatest wonders of the world. Thanks to books we can talk to people who lived in different ages and countries. It develops our feelings and emotions, it makes us think, suffer and rejoice together with the charac­ters of the book. It's also a valuable source of know­ledge and useful information about all sorts of things.

You both want to be enrolled one of the sports sections. Discuss what sport to go in for and why, when you will attend this section.

Television was invented in the 20th century. Nowadays television has turned into a family mem­ber. It informs us what's happening in the world. Television can teach us a lot of things, it also gives us pleasure and it's a wonderful way to escape from our dull reality. Today TV is a part of our life. It arouses deep emotions: love, hate and passion. It can also teach us how to solve our problems or to show what might happen if you do certain things.

3. Make up a conversation between your teacher and you. You begin the conversation. Your examiner will play the role of your friend. You want to be enrolled on an English course, but your friend thinks that you needn’t learn foreign languages, because you need too much time and efforts, besides you can always ask for an interpreter’s help. You don’t agree with him. Give at least two reasons why people should learn foreign languages.
