W
hile
the ITMCM
is actived it periodically monitors its inputs and outputs. If a
fault is detected the Diagnostic Bulb is illuminated and flash at a
rate of 0.25 seconds “ON”, and 0.25 seconds “OFF”. A fault
code will also be stored in the ECU memory.
The first time a fault is detected a DTC is stored in the ECU’s Non-Volatile memory. This DTC will remain in memory until the ITMCM is instructed to erase DTC's by the diagnostic tester. DTC's will not be erased by disconnecting power to the ITMCM.
