10. Страна/страны изучаемого языка и родная страна. Их географическое положение, климат, население, города и сёла, достопримечательности

10.1. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk about the place where you live.

Remember to say:

what kind of place it is (a city/town/village) and what it looks like; what it's famous for; what you would show your guests in your city (town, village), and why.

1)  What's your favourite holiday?

Let the student talk for 1,5 — 2 minutes.

Ask only those questions which the student has not covered while giving the talk.

— What kind of place is your city/town/village? What does it look like?

— What is it famous for?

— What would you show your guests in your city/town/village? All these ideas must be covered.

Finally, you must ask each student the following question:

Would you prefer to live in the country or in a big city? Why/why not?

10.2. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk about the city/town you live in.

Remember to say:

where it is situated; the things that you like most about the place you live in and why; the things that you dislike about the place you live in and why.

10.3. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk about the a nature spot that impressed you most..

Remember to say:

what kind of place it is (a city/town/village) and where it is; what it looks like; why it impressed you.

11.1. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on holidays and festivals.

Remember to say:

what the main holidays in Great Britain, the USA and Russia are; what your favourite holiday is; what presents you usually get.

12.1. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on famous people.

Remember to say:

what makes people famous; what famous British or American people you know; where you prefer to get information about famous people from, and why.

12.2. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk about your favourite writer.

Remember to say:

who is your favourite writer; why you like his/her books; what style they are written in.

13. Путешествие по странам изучаемого языка и по России

13.1. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on travelling.

Remember to say:

why people travel; if travelling always is pleasant; where and how you would prefer to travel.

13.2. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on travelling.

Remember to say:

if you like to travel alone or with your friends; if you have ever travelled outside of your country; which countries you have always wanted to visit.

13.3. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on travelling.

Remember to say:

besides tourism, what other reasons there are to travel; how important it is to speak the language of a country you're visiting; where you will go if you have a lot of money and why.

13.4. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on tourism.

 Remember to say:

what tourists can see and do in your country; what souvenirs you can buy;

what country you would like to visit as a tourist ans why.

14. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on new technologies.

Remember to say:

what devices have become an important part of our life, what we need them for, what disadvantages of new technologies you can name

15. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on global problems of the modern world.

Remember to say:

about natural resources, about nuclear weapons, how the climate changes, what our obligation before future is

16. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on mass media.

Remember to say:

the role of mass media in modern society, your favourite source of information, the attitude of your family towards it

16.1. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on some TV programmes.

Remember to say:

the kind of programme it was (a concert, a sports event, a news programme, a feature film, a documentary, etc.); what it was about/who was taking part in it; what you enjoyed and what you didn't like.

16.2. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on television programmes.

Remember to say:

what your favourite type of television programme is; how often you watch television; what you think of Russian television.

16.3. Give a 1,5 – 2 minute talk on teenagers using computers.

Remember to say:

how often teenagers use computers in your school or at home; what they use them for; what problems are created by their use.
